Focus on Jesus

When life is offering you too much

And the choices are too many

You may become so confused, overwhelmed

And discouraged that you can't make any

Too often there are not enough hours in a day

And it would be easy to fall back in to bed

Learn to act on what's of greatest value today

And keep your priorities straight, instead

Focus on Christ's atonement

For joy and clarity and strength

He will consecrate your afflictions

For your growth and eternal gain

Our sins, transgressions and mistakes

He can and will forgive the repentant

Focus on doing whatever it takes

To feel the spirit and keep each covenant

To the seeker, He is always within reach

He knows the frailties and intents of the heart

And empathizes perfectly with each

He can calm our anguish, offer peace and impart

Through His eternal sacrifice

All mankind can be saved

Everyone

Anyone

Even one

Even you

Because of Jesus Christ suffering

Our hearts and hands can become clean

Jesus Christ the Master Healer

Why did the Savior suffer for me?
He must know and love me so deeply!
My debt to Him is incalculably great.
For He bore my pains and sins, even hate!
What power was His to carry this load?
He our promise of a heavenly abode

When I've sore trials that I must bear,
I'll deepen my faith and trust He is there.
I know He can heal wounds and broken hearts.
That peace and comfort, His Spirit imparts.
His gift to each can't be destroyed by death.
For I know He grants me His living breath.

The Master Healer in perfect frame,
Gives resurrection to those once lame.
Am I not also in need of healing?
Thanks to Him, tender mercy I am feeling.
Thanks to Him, I've hope and bright days ahead.
As He heals me, with His water and bread.

[Verse 1]
Why did the Savior suffer for me?
He must know and love me so deeply!
My debt to Him is incalculably great.
For He bore all the world's sins, at Hells' gate!
What power was His to carry the load?
To lift all flesh to a heav'nly abode?

Chorus]
How deep, the love of Jesus
the Master Healer of us all
He suffered deeply for us
He conquered sin and death- His call

[Verse 2]
I have sore trials that I must bear,
They deepen my faith.  I feel His kind care.
I know He heals wounds and mends broken hearts.
That peace and comfort, His Spirit imparts.
His gift to each cannot be destroyed by death.
He offers to all, His life giving breath.

Chorus]
How deep, the love of Jesus
the Master Healer of us all
He suffered deeply for us
He conquered sin and death- His call

[Verse 3]
The Master Healer in perfect frame,
Gives resurrection to those once lame.
Am I not also in need of this healing?
Thanks to Him, I am not past feeling.
Thanks to Him, there are brighter days ahead.
As He heals me I am spiritually fed.

Chorus]
How deep, the love of Jesus
the Master Healer of us all
He suffered deeply for us
He conquered sin and death- His call

-Elder Russell M. Nelson- Jesus suffered deeply,
because He loves us deeply

Our Dear Father, We Cry Aloud

When the people, fearing God, cried out with one voice....Were they singing?
Was someone signing and they were saying the words in unison?  I do sense that the latter is what happened.

Heavenly Father, We cry aloud,
Lamenting our sins, with one voice.
Please forgive us our carnal state.
To speak Thy Son's name, we rejoice.

Oh have mercy and apply the
Atoning blood of Christ.
Help us to be more repentant,
With our hearts more purified.

May we be filled with Thy spirit,
For a remission of our sins.
May Thy mercy shine upon us.
With grace. Please forgive us and cleanse.

We feel less that the earth
Even  less than unwelcome dust
Help us realize our worth
The potential within each of us

Verse 1] Heavenly Father, we cry aloud Lamenting our sins, with one voice Please forgive us our carnal state To speak Thy Son's name, we rejoice [Pre-Chorus] Oh have mercy And apply The Atoning blood of Christ Help us be more repentant With our hearts more purified [Chorus] Please forgive us And cleanse us Please forgive us And cleanse us May Thy mercy shine upon us With grace, with grace [Verse 2] May we be filled with Thy spirit For a remission of our sins We lean in low We come again And ask You to begin [Pre-Chorus] Oh have mercy And apply The Atoning blood of Christ Help us be more repentant With our hearts more purified [Chorus] Please forgive us And cleanse us Please forgive us And cleanse us May Thy mercy shine upon us With grace, with grace [Bridge] We feel less than the earth Even less than unwelcome dust Help us realize our worth The potential within each of us [Final Chorus] Please forgive us And cleanse us Please forgive us And cleanse us May Thy mercy shine upon us With grace, with grace

Mosiah  Chapter 4

King Benjamin continues his address—Salvation comes because of the Atonement—Believe in God to be saved—Retain a remission of your sins through faithfulness—Impart of your substance to the poor—Do all things in wisdom and order. About 124 B.C.

1 And now, it came to pass that when king Benjamin had made an end of speaking the words which had been delivered unto him by the angel of the Lord, that he cast his eyes round about on the multitude, and behold they had fallen to the earth, for the fear of the Lord had come upon them.

2 And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth. And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men.

He Stood in Our Place

The time appeared
The Lord did come
Filled with power
And pure love

The Son of Man
Of miracles
Endured temptations
He knows how each pulls
Satan tries to make of us fools

Jesus proved valiant for His roles
The good shepherd of lost souls
The master teacher of parables
The great physician, He made men whole

The sick, the lame, the blind, the deaf
He cured those with leprosy
He forgave sins and awoke the dead
Evil spirits He cast out many

He suffered this all and more:
Pain, horror, anguish and temptations
That pressed blood from every pore
The wicked weight of abominations

And He the Creator of all things
Stood in our place as the scapegoat
Though found innocent, He was crucified
That to atone He might know
Perfectly to stand for justice
In purity
to righteously try

Verse 1]
The time appeared
The Lord did come
Filled with power
And pure love

The Son of Man
Of miracles
Endured temptations
He knows how each pulls

Satan tries to make of us fools
Jesus proved valiant for His new roles
The good shepherd of lost souls
The master teacher of parables

[Pre-Chorus]
The great physician, He made men whole
The sick, the lame, the blind, the deaf
He cured those with leprosy
Forgave sins and awoke the dead

[Chorus]
With our sins inlaid
He stood in our place
Repent and be saved
By His atoning grace

He stood in our place
Pure love on the cross
And rose from the grave
To redeem man always

[Verse 2]
Evil spirits
He cast out many
Then in Gethsemane
He suffered this all and more:
Pain, horror, anguish and temptations

That pressed blood from every pore
The wicked weight of abominations
And He the Creator of all things
Stood in our place as the scapegoat

[Pre-Chorus]
Though found innocent, He was crucified
That to atone He might know
Perfectly, to stand for justice
In purity, to righteously try

[Chorus]
With our sins inlaid
He stood in our place
Repent and be saved
By His atoning grace

He stood in our place
Pure love on the cross
And rose from the grave
To redeem man always

[Bridge]
Perfectly to stand for justice
In purity, to righteously try
Though found innocent, was crucified
The Lamb was lifted high

[Final Chorus]
With our sins now inlaid
He stood in our place
Repent and be saved
By His atoning grace

He stood in our place
Pure love on the cross
And rose from the grave
To redeem man always

“For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth,
who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.”

“And he shall cast out devils, or the evil spirits which dwell in the hearts of the children of men. 7 And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people

“And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.

“And he shall rise the third day from the dead; and behold, he standeth to judge the world; and behold, all these things are done that a righteous judgment might come upon the children of men” (Mosiah 3:5-10).

How Can We Comprehend

Never ending blessings

Have been promised us

Through His atonement

The most loving gift of all, from Jesus

From time's most sacred moment of all

He freely offers each of us

Perfect joy and happiness

In the holy presence of God

In heart and mind

In body and soul

He claimed our sins

And pains- His role

Perfectly

What happened in Gethsemane

How can we comprehend

Or on the cross, at the tomb

For the destiny of mankind?

Infinite the souls He atoned for

How can we comprehend

How and what He suffered that His blood did pour

And all He endured to the end

Everlasting suffering

And estrangement from God

He redeemed freely, offering

The ransomed the effects of the Fall

Four Promises Four Cups- The Passover

The first version is with a Shofar feel.  The second, a ballad version, is at the bottom of page. It is hard to describe the feelings of having struggled through and researching these past posts.  God bless!

The Last Supper, in the Upper room

Was a Passover celebration

A tradition of thanks that Israel

Was freed to become a Zion nation

The meal is set in order a "seder' in Hebrew

This celebration reads as a book

Along with the food there are things to say and do

The wine, there are four cups, let's take a deeper look

In Exodus six the Lord made them four promises

He brought them out of Egypt, from the Pharoah's yoke

He freed them of slavery-these both He has fulfilled

He will redeem them with an outstretched arm, judging mightily

He will drink this final cup with them in the kingdom of heaven

Moses at the burning bush- this was the Lord

The plagues, the miracles came from Him

The fleeing through the parted sea- His handy work

Too, Mount Sinai, the watered rock and manna from Heaven

Before Jesus and the apostles

Enter the upper room, each touches the wall

The kiss of the Mezuzah

In covenant with the oneness of God

With The first cup, the Cup of Blessing
The Lord washed His hands
as a sanctifying cleansing
A celebration grand
That again in Paradise they could meet

out of spiritual slavery
the bondage of sin
The end of the fear of death
For they could be with Him

With the second cup, the cup of plagues
Three unleavened matzahs, the Godhead
The middle one in half, set aside, to wait
All wash their hands, Jesus washes their feet

One has betrayed Him, Jesus taught
The bitter herbs are eaten
Judas is given bread dipped in sop
He leaves, as the story of Moses is given

With the third cup, by design
He mixed the water with the wine
As a sign of things yet to come
When they would pierce Him, though the Son

Love one another. The promise of peace.
The torn bread, He blessed the sacrament started here.
The Cup after Supper-the cup of
 redemption;
Not a dry eye, such were the tears

Jesus did not drink of the blood of the vine
It was His gift He left behind
In our hearts, Him we can find
We were not left in the world to walk blind

The Hallel, in praise they sang solemnly
Jesus was that God of the Old Testament
Their praise of deliverance took on new meaning
Of what they'd partaken had added significance

The fourth cup, our inheritance
Is for a later time, to be given
The cup of completion
We will all drink this one...with Him !

out of spiritual slavery
the bondage of sin
The end of the fear of death
For we will be with Him

“I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
I will free you from being slaves to them
, and
I will redeem you
with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.”

[Exodus 6:6-7]

During the last supper, the disciples were given four cups of wine. Each have a purpose which varies a little as you search online. They are based on the four promises in Exodus 6

1.I will bring you out. slavery  (The blessing is said and the host washes his hands)
The Cup of Blessing or sanctification/
(out of the world and out of spiritual slavery of sin and the fear of death.)- the Kiddush, which means sanctification
2. I will rid you of bondage. liberty (The three unleavened matzah are brought out. The middle one
is broken in half and set aside. They represent the Godhead and Jesus is torn/ All wash their hands)  The washing of feet.
The Cup of Plagues
Before Eating-telling the story of the Passover/Exodus
the bitter herbs are eaten
Judas is given the bread dipped in sop.
3. I will take you for my people. covenant people- Love one another. The promise of peace. The         torn bread was blessed and torn as sacrament.    (Jesus did not drink the blood of the vine)
The Cup after Supper-the cup of redemption
became  The Blood of the sacrament.
Psalms 113 to 118 – the ‘hallel’, the praise psalms – are sung.
(in praise of the plagues that brought deliverance.)
4. I will be to you God. inheritance.
The cup of completion. We will drink this one with Him in our Father's kingdom.
FOUR PROMISES
6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.                      Exodus 6

John 13:1–35 1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him; 3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. 18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. 19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. 21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. 23 Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. 25 He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? 26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. 28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him. 29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor. 30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night. 31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him. 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

The Gift of Agency and Christ's Atoning Grace

[Verse 1] We all possess the gift Of agency...to choose To draw nigh to or darkly drift From our Lord and His good news For our each and every action There's light to be responsible And we ever have an obligation To accept and be held accountable [Pre-Chorus] Through consistent practice Our standards can be set high Unto greatness, with Christ-like service Rejecting the self-absorbent life [Chorus] Always and ever we must exercise discipline (Exercise discipline) Repenting oft, believing in Christ's atoning grace (Christ's atoning grace) Always and ever we must exercise discipline (Exercise discipline) It is our to inspire others if they will listen (To find help) [Verse 2] Thus developing the character Of one morally disciplined Thereby following the exemplar As His ideals are envisioned Some turn from the laws of the Savior Creating their own God unto disorder There is naught to restrain their behavior But, external controls put in order [Pre-Chorus] Yet, can police and laws replace Customs, traditions, and values Can one civilize the human race When it has fallen unto abuse [Chorus] Always and ever we must exercise discipline (Exercise discipline) Repenting oft, believing in Christ's atoning grace (Christ's atoning grace) Always and ever we must exercise discipline (Exercise discipline) It is our to inspire others if they will listen (To find help) [Bridge] As the right hand steals from the left And puts forth more regulations There is but circumvention and debt As each judges the other's education... Such societies will struggle in vain Until sin is denounced as sin That moral discipline might rein As a pantheon of civic virtues are brought in [Final Chorus] Moral discipline is taught in the home (Moral discipline) Where our teachings come of our faith (Our faith) That the commandments of God might be known (They might be known) As a desire for truth becomes framed... Always and ever we must exercise discipline (Exercise discipline) Repenting oft, believing in Christ's atoning grace (Christ's atoning grace) Always and ever we must exercise discipline (Exercise discipline) It is our to inspire others if they will listen (To find help)

I Saw His Final Hours

 In a panoramic view

I saw the Lord's ministry

His baptism His teaching

All that caused marveling

Then my eyes of understanding

Were opened to behold

His love, overwhelmed me

As He washed each foot He held

He prayed for the disciples

Called out from the world

He pled for those which also

Would believe through their word

I saw the Mount of Olives

And in the garden where

He took upon Himself all burdens

I witnessed great drops of blood fall there

He suffered such agony

A burden no human could bear

For in that hour of anguish

He had to overcome Satan there

He suffered that we might not

If we will repent in heart and spirit

Again and again my soul was taught

the betrayal

the mock trial

the scourging

His struggling

The stretching

The nails driven into flesh

The crucifixion

And excruciating death

That through His merits, mercy and grace

Immortality is freely given

But, as all will see God face to face

It will be those who walked with Him

That will be prepared for that embrace

Eternal- to a place of love, and joy and rest

The Sacrament and the Sacrifice by Elder David B. Haight Oct General Conference 1989

He Knows

[Verse 1]

The pain was striking and intense As Christ bore all our sins With love as an offering He was crushed in suffering His agony, underscored Not one sorrow was ignored [Pre-Chorus] He sweat blood from every pore As He taught us what love's for He heard cries of the innocent With hands clenched, His heart wrenched Then in frightful moments fought All of Satan's darkest thoughts [Chorus] He knows what we need His soul was made to see All our pains, He can bear He awaits ever near [Verse 2] His disciples lent no support In sleep, they'd not watch keep He was tried and proved our Lord Let's not weary, we're His sheep A prayer engaged and delicate Fleets to the advocate [Pre-Chorus] Our needs, He discriminates And with God, He mediates How can we not remember prayer? All our pains, He can bear He knows what we are in need of As He sends forth love from above [Chorus] He knows what we need His soul was made to see All our pains, He can bear He awaits ever near [Bridge] Through His grace comes tender mercy Which proves He is discerning When the night leans hard on me Still He holds the hurting He knows the weight we carry He knows each tear that falls [Final Chorus] He knows what we need His soul was made to see All our pains, He can bear He awaits, ever near His soul was made to see Each pore, pressed, did bleed He knows what we need Showing tender mercy A sign, appearing

Overcome in Peace

I was standing in my office
Having prayed for Christ's sweet peace
When I came to know His purpose:
To overcome, that evil cease

I thought I saw before me
A covered immense pit
One corner lifted slightly
For a dark brief instant

The depth of evil, the vastness
Caused me to fall back, overcome
I collapsed, quite shocked and breathless
And cried silently to the Son

How can we ever come to hope?
Or survive such vast darkness?
While injustices are shown...
Ought they, forever, to harm us?

Then, these words came to my mind
"Be of good cheer, I have overcome"
For God, the world, and  mankind!

Jesus has marked the path and won!

Juxtaposed from evil
I felt peace rise, to judge well
With a love for all people...
There is a way out of hell

I felt deeper appreciation
For the intensity of suffering
Of the Lord, for our salvation...
And, was overwhelmed by this offering!

I felt peace in His power
To repair, reclaim, and cleanse
To save us in that hour
Good WILL triumph in the end!

I was standing in front of a chair in my office pleading with the Lord to help me understand how such evil could have been perpetrated. I did not see but rather sensed an immense pit with a covering over it. One corner of the covering was lifted slightly for just an instant, and I perceived within the pit the depth and vastness of the evil that exists in this world. It was greater than I could really comprehend. I was overcome. I collapsed into the chair behind me. The experience seemed to take my breath away. I cried silently, “How can we ever hope to overcome such evil? How can we survive something so dark and overwhelming?”
In that moment there came to my mind this phrase: “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Seldom have I felt such peace juxtaposed with the reality of evil. I felt a deeper appreciation for the intensity of the Savior’s suffering and had a better, even frightening, appreciation for the depth of what He had to overcome. I felt peace for the man who was before us for judgment, knowing he had a Redeemer, whose grace was sufficient to cleanse him and also repair the injustices he had suffered. I knew better that good will triumph because of Jesus Christ, whereas without Him we would have no chance. I felt peace, and it was very sweet.

Angel to King-

[Verse 1] An angel of God spoke to a King. Declaring great joy and glad tidings. For on a day not too far distant. The Lord as a child would make His descent. Tabernacled in clay, He shall serve. All manner of diseases, His to cure. [Pre-Chorus] And evil spirits, will be cast out— Though He'll be falsely accused, by those in doubt. Even more than man can suffer, He'll know temptations, thirst and hunger. [Chorus] That salvation might come unto men Through the remission of all their sins. Through faith and repentance on His name. We can be atoned for and found without blame. (Found without blame) Come unto peace Come unto peace [Verse 2] Meanwhile all who were there Did not see the angel or hear They thought their king was no more Because, in fact, he couldn't move Then, changed within he awoke And oh the message he spoke No one doubted, they felt too That of all he said... was true! [Pre-Chorus] Forgiven of sin of murderous thought For changes to begin they wanted to be taught To lay down their weapons and fight no more They sought a new life with their living Lord [Chorus] That salvation might come unto men Through the remission of all their sins. Through faith and repentance on His name. We can be atoned for and found without blame. (Found without blame) Come unto peace Come unto peace [Bridge] Their covenant was binding, they'd do no harm They prostrated themselves none raised an arm When their angry nation came to stir them back They'd rather die than to, even one, attack Some were killed, but what beauty of love! The whole nation was touched to look up Murderous thoughts had no place in their hearts Love was more powerful Look what an angel can start! [Final Chorus] That salvation might come unto men Through the remission of all their sins. Through faith and repentance on His name. We can be atoned for and found without blame. (Found without blame) Pray for the angels, pray for peace Pray for love towards one another increase Come to know the Savior. Come unto peace

A Name to Your Pain

 A Name to Your Pain

You have a name for the pain!
And somehow this helps?
It means you are not insane,
Or left to yourself!

Your unique pain is known,
By somebody else!
And you don't feel alone!
Even... as your life pales!

Jesus names your every pain
From the onset to end
The crushing torture descends
And His strength he lends

As you run out, He offers breath
To say your last peace
The last sigh before death
At last the pain does cease

[Verse 1] You have a name for the pain! And somehow this helps? It means you are not insane, Or left to yourself! Your unique pain is known, By somebody else! And you don't feel alone! Jesus can put a name to your pain!  Spasms, throbbing, cutting, stinging, frightful, unbearable, crushing, radiating, stabbing, searing, splitting, burning, blinding, shooting, penetrating, nauseating, smarting, spreading, torturing, etc.
And then there is emotional pain
stages of grief...
anxiety, fear, worry, numbness, post traumatic disorder
depression, sadness, hopelessness, worthlessness, isolation
shame, guilt, failures, self-criticism, self-loathing
loneliness, rejection, abandonment
anger, frustration, jealousy, obsession

[Verse 1] The good. The bad And we can trust He has our back He, as God's Son Paid to atone For everyone And get us home The breadth Of every pain The depth Of Sins made plain He experienced our lives Our temptations and struggles He understands what tries Afflicts and even cripples [Pre-Chorus] He did so in one night That was an eternity All in the absence of light, With the taunting of the enemy He knows what it's like To be queer or crazy He be paralyzed He lived both sides of hazing! [Chorus] He knows what it's like He knows what it's like He knows what it's like He saw our hopes and dreams and wept As He saw all that could have been... He knows anxiety, shame, and regret And all that's unfair we've been given [Verse 2] What's the worst that you have known? He felt that...and oh so much more! The weight...our sins became His own! He sweat and bled from every pore! The hardest part? The shock to His system! Is He was pure! And no vile was in Him! [Bridge] Still He held on Obediently with faith Doing no wrong Midst evil was His to face [Chorus] He knows what it's like He knows what it's like He knows what it's like He saw our hopes and dreams and wept As He saw all that could have been... He knows anxiety, shame, and regret And all that's unfair we've been given

Justification Sanctification

My nature needs help
So I can become
Better than myself
And more like the Son

Justified
She did her sentence
But no change was made
There was no remorse
Yet her time was paid

Not one of us is safe
From the weight of sin
But Jesus pays the debt
Again and again

Sanctified
The sentence was death
She made her peace
And to her last breath
Goodness increased

Still no holiness
Or changes that we make
Can perfect us
The Lord knows what it will take

The Lord will get us there
In this life more to face
Through obedience where
He molds us more in place

Freedom and joy to feel
From His  mercy and love
Through His hand in all things
To perfect us for Heaven above

Atonement of Christ-Thoughts from Bryce Dunford Institute Instructor

Ongoing Thoughts on Bryce Dunford (Institute instructor) on the

What a Blessing!

Is the answer to all we're addressing
On each day for each of us
He is there. Yes, with us!  What a blessing!

We can never speak enough
Of the lessons we learn
Of how we feel His love
And, for His presence yearn!

I Just Can't Give it Up!

I paid such a high price,
In sacrifice, to gain...!
That I just can't give up!
For, that would cause me more pain!

🤔 Thinking ...Can this be something that the Savior feels about each of us?

On a Scale of 1-10.... a 10+++ Constant!

The most brilliant mind
Cannot imagine enough
The worst pain you could find!
For, in reality, it's TOUGH!

The weight, with its entirety,
Fully sinks in ...
To explain this reality,
One cannot begin!

You can read about and interview others, but you have to feel the weight of the entirety of the pain to understand the reality of it all. Then, there are no words that can describe the pain to another! Also, when the pain is over it is hard to "feel" it again. Otherwise, women would be terrified to go through labor pains again! I remember panicking, when I went into labor with my second baby because it was then that I started to remember the pain- all to familiar! And then, afterwards, as a nursing mother- you cannot forget your baby for when they are in need of nutrients, you fully respond to that cry of need. Finally, there's adoption- the loving sacrifice of giving up a child so they can be raised with all their needs met. Sigh.

Defining Pain

Pain is difficult to define
And tolerance levels vary.
Some might misjudge you as "fine"
Until the passing out point. Scary!

Yet, Jesus did not "lose it"
He maintain a level head
He sweat and bled from each pore
When any other would be dead

Pain can lead to fainting or passing out, a response known as vasovagal syncope. This occurs when the body reacts to extreme pain or stress, causing a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure.

Mechanism of Fainting:Nervous System Response: Intense pain triggers the autonomic nervous system, which can cause blood vessels to dilate and heart rate to slow.
Reduced Blood Flow: This reaction can lead to decreased blood flow to the brain, resulting in loss of consciousness.

What is Hematidrosis? - News-Medical.net

Hematidrosis is a rare and unusual condition that is characterized by the excretion of blood through the sweat gland pores

is a condition in which capillary blood vessels that feed the sweat glands rupture, causing them to exude blood,

Possible Causes: (which of these causes triggered Jesus symptoms?)

  • Infections: Certain skin infections can lead to bleeding.
  • Vascular Disorders: Conditions affecting blood vessels may cause bleeding.
  • Skin Trauma: Injury or irritation can result in bleeding from pores.
  • Systemic Conditions: Disorders like thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) can lead to bleeding issues.

The Volunteer of the Year and of All Time!

Yes YOU, the volunteer,
Will have to do this all alone.
Clean up other's messes.
The extent of which is unknown.

Nonetheless the Thankless Job- (lack of recognition with high demands)

Some may think to thank you.
Others will care less.
You will be tested, too!
DO IT, nonetheless!

The Why

He was not in it for praise
Pleasure, power, or fame.
It was not for attention.
Seriously, it was not a game!

In a me society,
We think, "Who benefits?"
We scale "Probability?"
And, place labels where it fits...

But, for all eternity

His why was out of obedience,
Necessity, and perfect love.
He knew, He alone could atone
For our return, to God, above

Jesus had so many reasons
Much too infinite to count
He saw each of us, in all our seasons
And suffered the exact amount

For All Eternity

[Verse 1]
He was not in it for praise
Pleasure, power, or fame
It was not for attention
Seriously, it was not a game

In a me society
We ask, who benefits?
We scale probability
And place labels where it fits

[Pre-Chorus]
But for all eternity
His why was obedience
Necessity and perfect love
That holy confidence

[Chorus]
He alone could atone
He alone could atone
For our return to God above
For our return to God above
Jesus had so many reasons
Too infinite to count
He saw each of us in all our seasons
And suffered the exact amount

[Verse 2]
He knew the cost before the cross
Still, He stepped into the need
No crowd could pull Him off His path
No sorrow planted doubt or greed

He held the weight of every soul
With mercy in His hands
The broken, restless, running ones
He called them back to land

[Pre-Chorus]
But for all eternity
His why was obedience
Necessity and perfect love
That holy confidence
[Chorus]
He alone could atone
He alone could atone
For our return to God above
For our return to God above
Jesus had so many reasons
Too infinite to count
He saw each of us in all our seasons
And suffered the exact amount

[Bridge]
Not for attention
Not for acclaim
Not for applause
Or a borrowed name
Out of perfect love
Out of holy will
He bore our loss
And loves us still

[Final Chorus]
He alone could atone
He alone could atone
For our return to God above
For our return to God above

Jesus had so many reasons
Too infinite to count
He saw each of us in all our seasons
And suffered the exact amount
He alone could atone
He alone could atone
For our return to God above
For our return to God above

Magnitude

The magnitude...
Pressed with full weight
It was bitter, too
Much too vile to rate

Birth - Rebirth

Birth offers promise
And vast opportunities for growth
It comes from much sacrifice
For what is both magical and gross

The gush of fluid, the blood, the aftermath,
The cutting of the cord
The slippery baby needs a bath
A child of God is born!

Another kind of birth
That offers us a clean new life
And establishes our worth
Spiritually reborn of Jesus Christ

Immersed fully, incased in water
We are baptized in the name of
The Holy Ghost, the Son, and the Father
And join the covenant path, thereof

But, more so in the blood of the lamb
Come the last and final day
According to the Father's plan
Our sins will be washed away

Water and Promise

[Verse 1] Birth offers promise And vast opportunities For growth It comes from much sacrifice For what is both Magical and gross The gush of fluid The blood, the aftermath The cutting of the cord The slippery baby needs a bath A child of God is born! [Chorus] A child of God is born A child of God is born From blood and water Your promise still endures A child of God is born A child of God is born You wash us clean And make us yours [Verse 2] Another kind of birth That offers us a clean new life And establishes our worth Spiritually reborn Of Jesus Christ Immersed fully Incased in water We are baptized in the name Of the Holy Ghost, the Son, and the Father And join the covenant path, thereof [Pre-Chorus] But, more so In the blood of the lamb Come the last and final day According to the Father's plan [Chorus] A child of God is born A child of God is born From blood and water Your promise still endures A child of God is born A child of God is born You wash us clean And make us yours [Bridge] When the day breaks open And mercy calls our name Every stain is over Every tear is changed Our sins will be washed away Our sins will be washed away In the lamb's own grace We rise, we rise [Chorus] A child of God is born A child of God is born From blood and water Your promise still endures A child of God is born A child of God is born You wash us clean And make us yours

No Worries

We don't weary the Lord
And tire Him of saving us
There is no bank account
Of deficits with Jesus

Accordingly

He can and does bless each of us
Miracles will show
According to His timing. Trust!

Accordingly meaning - in a way that is appropriate to the circumstances.

Each prophet shows us who the Lord is
Like Moses pleading on Mount Sinai, thus
See Jesus pleading with the Father
For forgiveness on behalf of each of us!

Do we sin the great sin
Of making gods out of gold?
Have we, too, now forgotten
His image in our heart, as of old?

Write God's laws upon your heart
Let His love be a part of you
Let His Spirit to you impart
And whisper that which you should do

Write on My Heart

[Verse 1] Each prophet shows us who the Lord is Like Moses pleading on Mount Sinai, thus See Jesus pleading with the Father For forgiveness on behalf of each of us! Do we sin the great sin Of making gods out of gold? Have we, too, now forgotten His image in our heart, as of old? [Pre-Chorus] Write God's laws upon your heart Let His love be a part of you Let His Spirit to you impart And whisper that which you should do [Chorus] Write on my heart Write on my heart Your holy ways Your holy ways Write on my heart Write on my heart I want Your love To lead my days [Verse 2] When my hands want lesser treasures When my pride starts taking over Turn my eyes back to Your mercy Make my wandering soul grow sober If my gold turns into silence If my idols fall like dust Hold me close within Your justice Teach me how to live in trust [Pre-Chorus] Write God's laws upon your heart Let His love be a part of you Let His Spirit to you impart And whisper that which you should do [Chorus] Write on my heart Write on my heart Your holy ways Your holy ways Write on my heart Write on my heart I want Your love To lead my days [Bridge] Not on stone, but deep within me Not for show, but true and real Let the Son reveal the Father Let His mercy shape and seal [Final Chorus] Write on my heart Write on my heart Your holy ways Your holy ways Write on my heart Write on my heart I want Your love To lead my days Write on my heart Write on my heart Till all I do Looks like Your grace

Father, forgive them,
Or, take it out on me!
With more time given,
They will change. You will see!

Not One Soul

Not one soul
Would Christ have perish
He loves all
And seeks to cherish

Enoch speaks to Jehovah.  He sees Him cry!  vs 28 and 29

How is it that the Heavens weep
And shed mighty tears on the land?
They flow out both wide and deep
For sinners who don't understand!

Moses 7: 3 Yay even the thought that any soul should endure endless torment will cause him to quake and tremble.

One Way or Another

Either you repent
Or you pay
Ever to lament
On that day

Wailing and moaning
In full pain
Regret so growing
Hell takes reign

One way or another
(Through Christ) or alone we'll pay
Until each sin is covered
On the great and dreadful day

How infinite the shame
To cause such pain again
For Jesus already paid
And loves without end

video 3

Sparks of Goodness

See the sparks of goodness
In every single soul?
See how love and forgiveness
Blesses them in each role?

Limited

We cannot demonstrate
The depth of Christ's love
For we oft deviate
So limited thereof

Throughout

Throughout all of space and time
And all creation made
He knows our needs, yours and mine
And knows us each by name

Almighty Power is Here For and With You

He Brings the Light

[Verse 1] Jesus is the power Behind all things The sun, the moon, the stars, Their light, He brings This Earth is under His Almighty command He can do anything And still with each stand [Pre-Chorus] He is near always For any one of us Like Heavenly rays We feel His warmth and love [Chorus] He brings the light He brings the light He can enlighten our eyes He brings the light He brings the light And open up our skies [Verse 2] He can quicken Our understanding He can expand our skies To a higher place for standing When my faith runs low He calls me higher still One word from His mouth And every fear grows still [Pre-Chorus] He is near always For any one of us Like Heavenly rays We feel His warmth and love [Chorus] He brings the light He brings the light He can enlighten our eyes He brings the light He brings the light And open up our skies [Bridge] Higher place for standing Closer than my breath Almighty command In Your hands is life and death I lift my eyes again To where the dawn begins Jesus, You remain The light that never ends [Chorus] He brings the light He brings the light He can enlighten our eyes He brings the light He brings the light And open up our skies

Jesus is the power
Behind all things
The sun, the moon, the stars,
Their light, He brings

This Earth is under His
Almighty command
He can do anything
And still with each stand

He is near always
For any one of us
Like Heavenly rays
We feel His warmth and love!

He can enlighten our eyes
And quicken our understanding
He can expand our skies
To a higher place for standing

vs 10- 12
10 And the earth also, and the power thereof, even the earth upon which you stand.
11 And the light which shineth, which giveth you light, is through him who enlighteneth your, eyes, which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings, 12 which light procedeth forth from the presence of God, that fills the immensity of space.

Jesus is Four Things

Jesus is light, life,
Power, and law
He is in all we find
And I stand in awe

That Monster!

That monster called death
Doesn't win in the end
The Lord paid the debt
The resurrection is our friend

The Veil of Forgetfulness

Little Jesus forgot
That He was Jehovah.
He had to be taught
To know what He was made of

The sign of the dove...
Jehovah was back!
The Son, from above...
God's Plan was on track!

He received not of the fullness at the first...

Those who keep the commandments
Will receive more light and knowledge
Step up your obedience
And grow grace for grace to progress

Contradictions

Jesus was exposed
To more powerful contradictions
That any man can compose
To understand his jurisdiction

  • noun:   in law; the territory within which power can be exercised
  • noun:   (law) the right and power to interpret and apply the law

Know It All

You think you have it bad
When you don't know something
In His life, Jesus had
To grow and know all things

It Will Take Every One of Us

It will take every one of us

With our testimonies of Light

Plus, the blood of the Lamb, Jesus

To bind up Satan, the father of all lies

And it will be the best day, ever!

How Do I Get To Know the Savior?

How do we get to personally know the Savior,

When there is no one like Him on Earth?

Through loving service to others, kind endeavors

And sacrifice. When we feel our worth.

Cleaning Day

When you let someone in

To your messy room

You apologize in advance

So judgment won't bloom

Judgment and shame..

It's embarrassing!

But you're so glad they came!

It's worth the harassing!

If we could have the Savior,

In our home this week,

How we'd clean up to prepare!

And, the best of help, we'd seek!

Yet, the reality is,

He already knows

Everything that is amiss.

For, on our Spirit, it shows!

Messy Room Prayer

[Verse 1] When you let someone in To your messy room You apologize in advance So judgment won't bloom
Judgment and shame.. It's embarrassing! But you're so glad they came! It's worth the harassing! If we could have the Savior, In our home this week, How we'd clean up to prepare! And, the best of help, we'd seek! [Pre-Chorus] Yet, the reality is, He already knows Everything that is amiss. For, on our Spirit, it shows! [Chorus] Open Up Open up And let Him in (Open up) Let Him see You...yes, each sin Show them all! Repent. Share your dreams. Let Him call You, to better things! (Open up) [Verse 2] When the door stays half-closed And the floor still shows Every box we meant to move Every scar we hide and know Still He steps in gentle Through the piled-up mess No surprise can turn Him back No shame can make Him less He already knows my names Under all the dust Every cracked and crooked thing He still reaches out with trust [Pre-Chorus] Yet, the reality is, He already knows Everything that is amiss. For, on our Spirit, it shows! [Chorus] Open Up Open up And let Him in (Open up) Let Him see You...yes, each sin Show them all! Repent. Share your dreams. Let Him call You, to better things! (Open up) [Bridge] So I stop pretending I can fix me first I lay the junk out plainly Bring the hurt and thirst If You want the whole room Then take the hidden shelf I don't need to impress You You can know my true self [Final Chorus] Open Up Open up And let Him in (Open up) Let Him see You...yes, each sin Show them all! Repent. Share your dreams. Let Him call You, to better things! (Open up) Open Up Open up And let Him in
(Open up)

Hot Mess!

He wants us to know this

He knows how we got there

And He knows what will help

Our worst burdens, He will share!

The Best Cleaner

Open the door

To the best cleaner

Give up some more (trash)

Yes, for the help, be eager

Buried in Mess

I was buried in such a mess

Each day was chaos until

There wasn't room for much else

I truly was in need of help

12 Year Affliction

An unclean woman

A societal hassle

She could touch no one

Never a prayer tassel!

Still, she snuck behind

To steal a blessing

Touched, He looked to find...

She spoke confessing

She'd been afraid

To face Him and ask

But she had much faith

Yes, her issue had passed!

Now, fearing and trembling

Was she in the wrong?

Was He angry or upset?

No, He praised her faith strong!

While in the Act- No Shame No Guilt No Embarrassment

She knew full well

All that she had done

He did not condemn

He did not condone

Caught in the act

Of a grievous sin

He knew each fact

She got, "Sin no more" from Him

He was the only person

Qualified to throw a stone

He taught she was not her sin

Changed, her praise for Him shone

Open the Door

Open the door, when

In your darkest hour

His Light will pour in

And His love will shower!

Open the door, when

You feel not good enough

His arms await, wide

To welcome you with love

Open the door, when

You are at your worst

He'll help you to win

And overcome what hurts

Open the Door

She knew full well

All that she had done

He did not condemn

He did not condone

Caught in the act

Of a grievous sin

He knew each fact

She got, "Sin no more" from Him

He was the only person

Qualified to throw a stone

He taught she was not her sin

Changed, her praise for Him shone

Open the Door

[Verse 1] She knew full well All that she had done He did not condemn He did not condone Caught in the act Of a grievous sin He knew each fact She got, Sin no more from Him [Pre-Chorus] He was the only person Qualified to throw a stone He taught she was not her sin Changed, her praise for Him shone [Chorus] Open the Door Open the door, when Your darkest hour falls His Light will pour in And His love will shower! (Open the Door) Open the door, when You feel not good enough His arms await, wide To welcome you with love [Verse 2] Open the door, when You are at your worst He'll help you to win And overcome what hurts He knew each fact Yet mercy had its way He called her back And still He calls today [Chorus] Open the Door Open the door, when Your darkest hour falls His Light will pour in And His love will shower! (Open the Door) Open the door, when You feel not good enough His arms await, wide To welcome you with love [Bridge] Sin no more from Him Not shame, not shame again He lifts you up And makes you clean within You are not your sin You are beloved, my friend Open the door And let His grace come in [Final Chorus] Open the Door Open the door, when Your darkest hour falls His Light will pour in And His love will shower! (Open the Door) Open the door, when You feel not good enough His arms await, wide To welcome you with love

He Has Our Back

Jesus knows us
The good. The bad
And we can trust
He has our back

He, as God's Son
Paid to atone
For everyone
And get us home

The breadth
Of every pain
The depth
Of Sins made plain

He experienced our lives
Our temptations and struggles
He understands what tries
Afflicts and even cripples

He did so in one night
That was an eternity
All in the absence of light,
With the taunting of the enemy

He knows what it's like
To be queer or crazy
To be paralyzed
He lived both sides of hazing!

He saw our hopes and dreams and wept
As He saw all that could have been...
He knows anxiety, shame, and regret
And all that's unfair we've been given

What's the worst that you have known?
He felt that...and oh so much more!
The weight...our sins became His own!
He sweat and bled from every pore!

The hardest part?
The shock to His system!
Is He was pure!
And no vile was in Him!

Still He held on
Obediently with faith
Doing no wrong
Midst evil was His to face

Knowing Circumstance

He is the best judge
Of all mankind
For He bears no grudge
Our good, He'll find!

Who best to show mercy
And to pardon each sin?
He can perfectly see
From the start to the end

He knows the conditions
And our state of mind
In every situation
That life can design

He's your  best witness
And your best defense
He knows sure justice
For a just sentence

No other path
Would have been right for me
All that I am
Has lead me unto Thee

Best Witness

I am like a tree
That's meant to bear fruit
But...no ripening
For I grew from poor roots

Plucked where I was found
Pruned and grafted in
I stand on wholesome ground
Where new blossoms begin

The master of the Vineyard
Never gave up on me
Though at times it's been hard
I have made growth, I see

Wholesome Ground

[Verse 1] I am like a tree That’s meant to bear fruit But...no ripening For I grew from poor roots Plucked where I was found Pruned and grafted in I stand on wholesome ground Where new blossoms begin [Pre-Chorus] The master of the Vineyard Never gave up on me Though at times it’s been hard I have made growth, I see [Chorus] I grow on wholesome ground I grow on wholesome ground New blossoms in me now New blossoms in me now [Verse 2] Storms came through my branches Still, You kept me near Every scar became a season Every season brought me here I was bent, but never broken I was tired, but still held fast What was buried in the soil Started rising at last [Pre-Chorus] The master of the Vineyard Never gave up on me Though at times it’s been hard I have made growth, I see [Chorus] I grow on wholesome ground I grow on wholesome ground New blossoms in me now New blossoms in me now [Bridge] From poor roots to living grace From lost to chosen tree You kept shaping every limb Until I could believe [Final Chorus] I grow on wholesome ground I grow on wholesome ground New blossoms in me now New blossoms in me now The master never left The master never gave up on me

Justification Sanctification

My nature needs help
So I can become
Better than myself
And more like the Son

Justified
She did her sentence
But no change was made
There was no remorse
Yet her time was paid

Not one of us is safe
From the weight of sin
But Jesus pays the debt
Again and again

The sentence was death
She made her peace
And to her last breath
Goodness increased

Still no holiness
Or changes that we make
Can perfect us
The Lord knows what it will take

The Lord will get us there
In this life more to face
Through obedience where
He molds us more in place

Freedom and joy to feel
From His  mercy and love
Through His hand in all things
To perfect us for Heaven above

He's Been There Before

He's Been There Before by Elder Troy Whittle
The alarm bell rings at 6:30, I stumble to my feet
I grab my companions bedding and pull off his sheets
A groan fills the room, is it already time to arise?
It seems like just a second ago I was able to shut my eyes

The morning activities follow- study, prayer and such
When it's time to leave the apartment, you feel you haven't accomplished much
"We have a super day planned," My comp. says with a grin
I lowly utter a faithless breath, "Yeah, if anyone lets us in."

With the word of God and my faithful Schwinn, we ride off in the street prepared to
Face another day of humidity and heat
It's 9:30 in the evening, the day is almost through
My champion and I are riding home not accomplishing what we thought to do

We ride up to the mailbox, hoping to receive a lot
Only to look inside and hear my echo reverberate "air Box"
We go up to our apartment, the day is now complete
The only thing to show for our work is a case of blistery feet

It's past 10:30 p.m. My companion is fast asleep,
Silence engulfs me all about and I begin to weep
In the midst of sadness, I kneel down to pray
I need to talk to father, but I'm not sure what to say

"Oh, Father" I begin, "What happened to us today?
I thought we'd teach somebody, but everyone was away
My hands, my aching hands- worn, hurt and beat;
If our area was any smaller, we'd have knocked every street"

"Why on missions are the days so much alike?
The only difference about today was the flat tire on my bike
Will you send some cooler weather? The heat is killing me
I sweat so bad, it gets in my eyes, it's very hard to see"

"Why do I have to wear a helmet, isn't your protection enough?
People always laugh at me, and call me stupid stuff
Please send us investigators so I may give them what they lack
I want to give them Books of Mormon, the weight of them hurts my back"

"And what about my family: They don't have much to say
I'm sick of not hearing from home day after day after day
Oh Father, Why am I here am I just wasting time?
Sometimes I just want to go home, I'm sorry but that's on my mind"

"My companion, Heavenly Father, what are you giving me?
"The way he rides his bicycle, I don't think he can see
Now you have it, I can't go on, I don't know what to do
That, my Father in Heaven, is the prayer I have for you"

My prayer now finished, I stand up, then jump right into bed
I need my rest for tomorrow, we have another long day ahead
Sleep start to overtake me, I seem to drift away
Then it seems a vision takes me to another time in another day

I'm standing alone on the hill. The view is very nice
A man walks to wards me and says, "My name is Jesus Christ"
Tears of joy well up inside, I fall down to His feet
"Arise," He states, "Follow me to the shade. You and I need to speak"

My attention's towards my Savior, total and complete
He says, "Your mission is similar of what happened to me
I understand how you feel, I know what you're going through
In fact, it would be fair to say I've felt the same as you"

"I even know how you felt when no one listened to you
At times I felt not quite sure what else I could do
I know you don't like to ride a bicycle, for you a car would be sweet
Just remember the donkey I rode wasn't equipped with 21 speeds"

"I understand you don't like sweating, in fact it's something you hate
I remember when I sweat blood from ev’ry pore, oh the agony was great!
I see you don't like your companion- you'd rather have someone else-
I once had a companion named Judas who sold my life for wealth"

"It's hard to wear a helmet and have people make fun of you
I remember when they put thorns on my head and called me King of the Jews
So you feel burdened down by the weight of your pack
I recall how heavy the cross was when they slammed it on my back"

"Your hands hurt from tracting and knocking on doors all day
I guess when they pounded nails into mine, I ached in a similar way
It's hard not to hear from home when your family's not there to see
I lost communication on the cross and cried, "Father, why hast Thou forsaken me?"

"We have a lot in common, but there's a difference between us you see
I endured to the end and finished my mission, so follow and do like me"
He embraced me with His arms and His light filled me with His love
With tears in my eyes I watched as He went back to the Father above

I stood with awe and wonder when a beep rang in my head
I listened and heard the alarm, then realized I was in my bed
My companion let out a groan, "6:30 already, no way!"
I sat up and said, "Come on, I'll even carry your scriptures today!"

No matter what we go through, when we feel we can't take more
Just stop and think about Jesus Christ, He's been there before

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

These poems are my own thoughts and impressions as I study the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints

I encourage you to read from the Book of Mormon and the standard works, and listen to modern day prophets, also, that your mind and heart might be touched.
