And we to the Son know

There was no light
During wars long ago
The blackouts at night
Were for safety to know

The nighttime so long
War seemed without end
Till someone wrote in a song
That lights would come on again

We've Light Enough

We've light enough
To daily live
Though sea's be rough
They're but a seive

Filtering out
Coarser dark elements
Vanity... deceit... doubt
Unto our faithful segments

With the Light of Christ in All Things

With the Light of Christ in all things
Is it any wonder
That all we see points to Him
From above the Earth to under

With the Light of Christ in all things
We are left wondering
At the examples in His teachings
Of what this principle is offering...

Jesus spoke of the lost sheep
And of the hen with ample wings
He taught where to cast our seeds
And of the law of harvesting

In the desert, near where I'm at

I see a sign drawn by our great king

A long cross on a donkey's back 

It is there for our remembering?

The people were so welcoming

On their own terms of understanding 

But Jesus knew what was coming

And where they would leave Him, standing

But we can better than that

Read His Words, to be understood

And praise Him where e're we're at

We've His Light shining- life is good

Always, with our thoughts on Jesus
We can seek Him with His Light so clear

What He's put inside each of us

Helps us to grow- we have cause to cheer!

What is the Law?

What is the law by which all things are governed
Both on earth and throughout all the heavens
It is that which proceeds forth from God through our Lord
Even the Light of Christ which unto life is given

As a divine energy, it influences for good
For it can manifest as our conscience
And if we're more sensitive to doing as we should
We shine as an example of obedience

With this light upon our minds, we comprehend truths
There to find the gospel path leading to salvation
For as our ability to hearken and do best improves
We are prepared for an ever brighter education

Then as the Holy Ghost is discovered, warmth burns
As the light within brightens with righteous desire
That this personage ministrates through the spirit to confirm
Who God is, while lending comfort and gifts that inspire

There is a God

There is a God
He has a plan
It sheds abroad
Unto all man

Each in their own way
Have a path unto Him
And when we've faith to pray
Heaven's windows do open

It is a journey
That all can afford
Ever so humbly
Because of the Lord

May we follow His path
And walk in His ways
There to do as He asks
For all of our days...

We are filled with great love
For God, self, and man
When we read what's from above
And accept covenants at hand

Line upon line
And precept on precept
We make use of our time
And learn how laws are kept

On this earth where we turn
Christ's light is a golden rule
Upon which to center and learn
Unto love... for this life is our school

How Does One Feel the Light of Christ?

How does one feel the Light of Christ?
But, to have the mind feel quickened
Unto knowing what's good and right
And, of what's bad, to feel sickened

As a warning we'll feel dark
And filled with confusion
But when there's truth we'll spark
And burn with light's infusion

Is it any wonder
That we seek and find Christ's church?

We may start to wander

But, then for His Light we search

The Light of Christ Manifests as Conscience

The Light of Christ
Manifests as conscience
That man may be tried
Unto obedience

Where ever there be good
Know that it comes from Light
To seek for these- we should
For each leads us unto Christ

Thus to each of us is given
To know the good and bad
The influence to live in
But not to judge... for you'll be had

For the very thing you see
Continually before the eyes
Is where all paths will lead
As from sin's load will be your cries

It's so easy to drift
When you walk on judgment sand
But the Holy Ghost our gift
Can teach forgiveness to understand

Jesus Christ gives us warm love
That is ever full of light
Brighter than the sun above
It helps me see what is right

Shall We Get Lost Everywhere We Go?

Shall we get lost everywhere we go?
When we have gifts that can navigate?
We have assistance that we can know
The right course t'wards the celestial gate

gift one- free agency schooled with the Light of Christ for conscience:

We've ability and power to choose
As a part of our earthly descent
And towards good, our Father behooves
Through invitation and enticement

We've a natural capacity
To distinguish between right and wrong
And just like any other faculty
The more it's used well, it grows strong

And as we're ever linked to Christ
We speak through Him to our Father
Such that we're given light to our eyes
And can find a gift like no other

gift two- the Gift of the Holy Ghost

Those who become sensitive to choice
Do receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost
For therein is safety to rejoice
As we've the guidance from a heavenly host

There we feel God's warm reception
And directions for where to look
There to be saved from deception
And find words of love in His book

gift three- the capacity to believe the words of those who testify of Jesus Christ

The writ of prophets through the ages
Are from God that His plan might be known
The sole purpose of what's on the pages
Is so we'll not get lost on our way home

gift four- the gift of eternal love

To that place which is in Heaven above
Where there is brightness and glorious peace
Where one is gifted with eternal love
And placed on a path that does ever increase

There is a light

Wisdom and love

The Light of Christ
Rests upon all life

And strength to strive

I Have a Spirit Inside of Me

I have a spirit inside of me
It helps me feel and helps me see
Not with my eyes and not with my skin
But with my heart and soul within

In Heavenly Father's image and form
We were a spirit before we were born
Now of our bodies we've stewardship
And God's words of wisdom for our ownership

We've also Christ's Light that shines for all
That helps us know what's right- to there stand tall
May those desiring God find their way
And do what is good till that perfect day

In the Godhead there are three
The Holy Ghost can dwell inside of me
Guiding my day if I listen for it
As it speaks to me spirit to spirit

Unto all, Jesus brightens each endeavor
As our exemplar, He's shows with love as our Savior
For, though a God, He condescended to our earth
And atoned for us, to lead us to God and our eternal worth

Qualities We Can Command

Qualities we can command
Come from the mind, heart, and hand
As we learn to delight in others
We grow to love all as our brothers

We're here to learn from the Master
He's our strength, though comes disaster
The greatest of lessons we're to learn
Are how to make choices and discern

Our Savior knows us and there's naught we hide
And His lights in us there to reside
It's there to motivate for intelligence
And to help us process thought and conscience

With Open Eyes We See More Clearly

With open eyes we see more clearly
Of Christ's light to live life fully
And as we exercise humility
We receive loving resiliency

Before us lies a grand smorgasbord
That has been placed brilliantly before
And into us, there's joy to infuse
Where do we start and what do we choose?

As we pause to stand very still
We can see and know of God's will
There's much for us that's brightly lit
If we only seek to lay hold of it

For the meek, comes the greatest gift of all
That fills the soul with joy that enthrals
It is the purest love we can know
It is charity which sets us aglow
