Family prayer
What a sightHappily there:
Love and Light!
Family prayer
What a sightWith one follower you would think
that I really don't count.
But, you sized me up to shrink,
as one IS an amount.
I had someone make fun of me for having one follower on Twitter. Still....
What happens when you run out
Of family, friends and even money
But, still you linger- in life?
You get to reside among many
Pray you bring with you Christ's Light!
Back in the day, as a new bride with a husband going to BYU, I worked at Mount Timpanogos rest home. I remember a patient, Spencer. He died with no one to come and claim his body. He had outlived anyone who would. He was cared for. I still remember his tender eyes. I think that was all his goodness shining through. He was lingering until his time...
Likening to God's word
We all meet in a tent.
With Christ's light in this world,
We testify often.
Nairobi, Kenya sacrament meetings are held in this tent. Check it out!
I was just talking about a homeless person who after one day, abandoned their new tent. It meant nothing to him. I find nice things in LasVegas abandoned.
On the other hand, this tent has endless value, endless lessons!

Mind the gap.
Build on faith's common ground.

A century of spreading forth light
of the restored gospel of Jesus the Christ.
As Latter-Day Saints, we love our neighbors,
believing we are all sisters and brothers.

[Verse 1]
Old trunk by the bedroom wall Corners cracked Brass gone dull Smell of cedar Dust And rain Names half-faded on the lid Your mama’s dress My father’s coat One torn letter Three love notes Ticket stubs and baby shoes Every weight this house once knew [Chorus] Lay your head down Love Right here All these miles have brought us near Every scuff and every tear Folded into mercy We belong in broken things Hands and hearts and fraying seams I can feel the quiet sing Mercy in the cedar grain [Verse 2] Your brothers left in borrowed boots Came home taller Carrying truth Your sister’s laugh still haunts that scarf Smells like summers we outgrew We sat up through fearful news Tracing maps Saying prayers Tea gone cold Your shaking hand I just held it Stayed right there [Chorus] Lay your head down Love Right here All these miles have brought us near Every scuff and every tear Folded into mercy We belong in broken things Hands and hearts and fraying seams I can feel the quiet sing Mercy in the cedar grain [Bridge] [Strings and piano swell gently] If your knees give way I’ll kneel beside you (oh) If your voice runs dry I’ll hum your tune If the dark feels one room too wide I will pull the night in close with you We have shared our smallest sorrows We have shared our borrowed bread There is grace in saying “stay” When every fear says “go instead” [Chorus] Lay your head down Love Right here All these miles have brought us near Every scuff and every tear Folded into mercy We belong in broken things Hands and hearts and fraying seams Every breath a soft amen Carried in this simple hymn I can feel the quiet sing Mercy in the cedar grain[Verse 1] Clock on the wall says 3 in the mornin' I’m counting the cracks in the ceiling again Replayin' the words that I wish I had spoken Feelin’ the weight of the things I can’t mend [Verse 2] Tears on the pillow Quiet confession Shadows crawl long on the side of my bed Heart like a stone I can’t seem to turn over Every regret keeps on runnin' ahead [Chorus] But when I lay it down Lay it down Right here at Your feet All of my sorrow All of my shame Every broken piece of me You take my shaking hands in Yours You calm this restless mind When I lay it down Lay it down Your mercy finds me every time [Verse 3] Whisper a name I ain’t called in a long time Feels like the first breath I’ve taken all year You meet me there in the dark of my questions Soft as a promise I’m longing to hear [Chorus] When I lay it down Lay it down Right here at Your feet All of my sorrow All of my shame Every broken piece of me You take my shaking hands in Yours You calm this restless mind When I lay it down Lay it down Your mercy finds me every time [Bridge] I don’t have the answers (no) I don’t have much to bring Just a heart that’s tired of hiding And a voice too worn to sing But You turn my sighs to hallelujahs You hold my failures in Your grace In the quiet I remember I am safe here in this place [Chorus] So I lay it down Lay it down Right here at Your feet All of my sorrow All of my shame Every broken piece of me You write Your kindness over scars You light the corners of my night When I lay it down Lay it down You turn my mourning into life [Outro] Now the dawn is slowly breaking And my fears fall out of view Every breath feels like a blessing Every step I walk with You I laid it down I laid it down (oh yeah) And in the stillness I can see Through every sleepless night and sorrow You were holding on to me
I am as a wanderer.
My life has been but a dream. You have carried me across the desert
And gave long drinks to my crusted lips
When I hungered you filled till I was fed
You didn't drill and list my "What if's"
When I lay abandoned and shattered
You gave me strength beyond my own
You showed me simply that I matter
More than for my suffering, I'm known
And I can't keep this to myself
You are our greatest source of help
Verse 1] You have carried me across the desert Long Slow drinks on my cracking lips When I hungered You filled me steady Turned my empty into gifts You did not dig through every failure Did not weigh me with “what ifs” You just sat there in the silence Let your kindness do the lift [Chorus] And I can’t keep this to myself You are our greatest source of help When I am breaking When I melt You hold the pieces You have felt Every fear I’ve ever held You are our greatest source of help [Verse 2] When I lay abandoned and shattered You lent strength beyond my own You kept whispering “You matter More than all the pain you’ve known” Now my story is your mercy Running wild through what I tell Every heartbeat is an echo Of the love that pulled me out of hell [Chorus] And I can’t keep this to myself You are our greatest source of help When I am breaking When I melt You hold the pieces You have felt Every fear I’ve ever held You are our greatest source of help [Bridge] Every desert Every dark room Every doubt that I have felt You stand steady in the shadows You are our greatest source of help [Chorus] And I can’t keep this to myself You are our greatest source of help When I am breaking When I melt You hold the pieces You have felt Every fear I’ve ever held You are our greatest source of help
God's heart beats with empathy and love
And knows all our joys and pains
How He weeps from eternity, above
For our sakes, as He rules and reigns!
He Is Never Far
Behind the choices that we make
He knows what our motives are
When we suffer in heartbreak
He is there! He is never far!
He is our God. He hears and knows us.
He weeps from above for we are His.
His only son- He gave us Jesus,
Who in perfect love, then died for us!
Fiona and Terryl Givens came to our stake center on the 21st. They spoke about the 6 gems of the restoration. At the top of the list was this. The joy and the beauty of conversion Moses 7. He is our God. He knows us. We are His.
He Weeps from Above- and Doesn't Look Away
Have you an anti-Christ in your life
Who has taken the place of our Savior?
Who do you look to, to save you from strife
And provide you with mercy and favor?

The story of Job taught
That misfortunes are not
Always synonymous with sin
As in trials we are taught
All about our faith from within
To know....
Some are gifts from our God, even
He IS our greatest gift given
And that...
His angels send blessing from Him!

Verse 1] They said my trouble meant I’d done wrong Counted my scars Called it my fault But in the ache I heard a soft song A quiet voice inside the vault Of everything I feared I’d lost You sat with me among the ash Not one tear was brushed aside You wrote Your mercy through the crash [Chorus] Not every storm is a punishment Sometimes the rain is how You mend You turn my questions into lessons Till I find faith where I begin Some pains are gifts that You have given You are the greatest gift there is And through the shadows Through the hurting Your angels carry every blessing in [Verse 2] They stripped me down to almost nothing Friends drew their circles in the dust But in the dark I found You closer Than every voice I used to trust You didn’t owe me any answer Still You met me in the wind Showed me love that holds the heavens Yet bends low to lift me again [Chorus] Not every storm is a punishment Sometimes the rain is how You mend You turn my questions into lessons Till I find faith where I begin Some pains are gifts that You have given You are the greatest gift there is And through the shadows Through the hurting Your angels carry every blessing in
Living in complete darkness
Laboring and tunneling by hand
In a death camp- its purpose
To execute the solution plan
The Final Solution during WWll was for the genocide of Jews. 6 million were killed.
I just learned about one of the camps: The Ebensee Camp- Of the prisoners rescued, over 700 died from the starvation they had endured. They lived in complete darkness. It was painful for not only their eyes to adjust to daylight but their emaciated thin skin!
Breakfast- coffee
Lunch- potato peelings in boiled water
Dinner- 150 grams of bread- todays equivalent of 3 or 4 slices
Remember God's children
Were His, before yours!
They have greatness within
So don't be forlorn
I think of forlorn as sad and alone to the point of feeling hopeless.

Don't forget your why
It gets you up and going
It helps you to try
For better things showing
Sigh! I let the day get away!
And it took a life of its own!
Yes, I forgot to pray all day!
Now, I'm frazzled in bed and worn!
I missed all that faith could have shown!
Called out of darkness
Into His wondrous light
A chosen people
Come and praise His insight
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
What you really want to know...
Go to the source and ponder
It's through study you will grow
Then continue to wonder
Reflection puts you on a path
Of prayerful pondering and thought
And gathers in conversations
Some dream dreams and in slumber are taught
