Elder and Sister Bednar have spent a weekend with the students at BYU- Idaho.  In a way it is a homecoming- a 25 year anniversary celebration. On this campus they were instrumental in Rick's college becoming a much needed university. You can feel their love for these wonderful students!

Eighteen years ago, Valérie and I received a telephone call from President Thomas S. Monson, during which he called me to serve as a General Authority Seventy. We accepted in faith, knowing that this calling would profoundly change the course of our lives.

The next morning, as I prayed for comfort and guidance, I felt prompted to open a copy of the Liahona magazine lying on our kitchen table. Almost immediately, my eyes found this reassuring promise from the Lord: “Be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ.”

That scripture brought peace to my heart. I realized that my primary responsibility was simply to bear witness of the Savior. Everything else would be in His hands.



A Precious Gift from God

The gift of testimony is deeply personal. It is received in the intimacy of our relationship with God and shaped according to our unique experiences, circumstances, and needs. It grows through faith, earnest seeking, gospel living, and the quiet influence of the Holy Ghost. Truly, “to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God” is one of life’s greatest blessings and a precious gift from God.

Adoption- Abortion- Right to Life

I watched about special video about adoption.  One part discussed abortion and was interviewing women on both sides.  I loved what one said.  We will go to war to protect lives and freedom but some women will not lay down their lives for nine months to protect the life of their unborn child, which they then can put up for adoption.

How on earth does a glider rise to soar the sky?

I inquire, "when and how?" for I would like to try

Oct 11 : if you're going through a hard thing, give it up to the Lord, and He will bless you. Maybe not right away, and maybe not in a way you think, but the blessings will come. He said this is your chance to start over and have a brand-new life, and I feel like he was looking right at me when he said that. It was as if he was speaking directly to my soul.

The Lord knows I've gone through hard things. It took me months to finally have a testimony, convert, and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a hard journey. I didn't want to disappoint my family or my friends, but I did it because I finally knew it was true. I'm so glad I did.

Sister Kearon spoke in a devotional in the UK, Oct 2026. It was a tender moment for her. This building was the one she heard Elder Kearon speak at for the first time. She thought, "I have six months..." Weeks passed, she introduced herself and he invited her to his place for dinner- well a group, anyways. That was the start. Her lesson was based on hearing a song:  "I surrender".  Well, here is her song.  ☺

Recently in South America, a seasoned group of outstanding missionaries was asked, “What is the greatest need in the world?” One wisely responded: “Is not the greatest need in all of the world for every person to have a personal, ongoing, daily, continuing relationship with the Savior?” Having such a relationship can unchain the divinity within us, and nothing can make a greater difference in our lives as we come to know and understand our divine relationship with God.
We should earnestly seek not just to know about the Master, but to strive, as He invited, to be one with Him (see John 17:21), to “be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man” (Eph. 3:16).

It is my testimony that we are facing difficult times. We must be courageously obedient. My witness is that we will be called upon to prove our spiritual stamina, for the days ahead will be filled with affliction and difficulty. But with the assuring comfort of a personal relationship with the Savior, we will be given a calming courage.
