: if you're going through a hard thing, give it up to the Lord, and He will bless you. Maybe not right away, and maybe not in a way you think, but the blessings will come. He said this is your chance to start over and have a brand-new life, and I feel like he was looking right at me when he said that. It was as if he was speaking directly to my soul.
The Lord knows I've gone through hard things. It took me months to finally have a testimony, convert, and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a hard journey. I didn't want to disappoint my family or my friends, but I did it because I finally knew it was true. I'm so glad I did.
You help the Lord bring in "the one"
Not knowing what they'll become
Or what their trials will teach them
Now, or on some distant sun
Feeling great anguish and concern
Over what they will do in their pain
In this hour, is it the Lord to whom they'll turn
Or will they raise a fist to the heavens in blame
Know this: the most exquisitely painful experience
Can, in time and growing understanding, teach you of love
Of the Savior's great and infinite atonement
And become, ironically, your richest blessing from above
For, one day, you'll be flying blissfully along
With the excruciating pain now gone
And see it led you, with faith, to a beautiful place
After a trial that was incredibly long
Was it the humility, faith, prayer and trust
That softened you unto the depths of surrender
As your feet on the covenant path can barley trudge
Laboriously, yet steadily, accepting what life does render?
Know this: the most exquisitely painful experience
Can, in time and growing understanding, teach you of love
Of the Savior's great and infinite atonement
And become, ironically, your richest blessing from above
[Verse 1]
You help the Lord bring in the one
Not knowing what they’ll become
Or what their trials will teach them
Now, or on some distant sun
[Verse 2]
You feel the ache of wondering
What they’ll do inside their pain
In this hour, will they turn to God
Or raise a fist and curse the rain?
[Chorus]
The deepest wound can teach you love
In time, through all you’re passing through
The Savior’s infinite atonement
Can make a blessing bloom in you
[Verse 3]
One day you’ll fly through kinder skies
With all that excruciating pain gone
Faith will have led you to a beautiful place
After a trial that seemed so long
[Bridge]
Was it humility, faith, and prayer
The trust that steadied every step?
When covenant paths grew hard to tread
You kept on walking, though you wept
[Final Chorus]
The deepest wound can teach you love
In time, through all you’re passing through
The Savior’s infinite atonement
Can make a blessing bloom in you
[Outro]
One day you’ll see the beauty there
And know you were carried through
