The ward I visited had a return missionary from Japan speak. He left for Japan right after the tsunami, so it was a great kickoff for the broadcast.  Afterwards, I wrote a record number of poems in a little over an hour. I posted them on my phone while sitting alone, out in nature.  I feel so blessed.

Looking for a Missionary Poem

Family, and its education,

Is the place where we are known

Structurally as a foundation

It goes with us, where ever we are flown

From its loving supportive face

A missionary plants his feet

To a new found family in place

Tree Already There

The goal is not to join the church

Or wanting you to believe something

For then you would miss the point

It is not just about the joining

The Book of Mormon starts with a family

And their struggle on a journey far

For not all of them share the father's vision

And there is contention from the start

Some sons do the least that is asked

Their heart is not okay with this change

But, one son knew how to correct this path

He prayed and gained for himself faith

He, too saw what his father saw

A tree bearing the purest white fruit

Of the love found there was God

Offering us His Son, in truth

The book is about connections

Of turning your heart to Christ

And partaking of the love shared

 By covenant making in life

The tree is already there

It is up to us to reach for it

And to be willing to share

Knowing how YOU are better for it

He Who Notes the Fall of a Sparrow

 

He who notes the fall of a sparrow
Surely hears the pleadings of our heart

Hit the ball out of the park is an idiom that means to do something extraordinarily well.
What better thing to do exceptionally well, than to teach the gospel to a golden contact.

I just watched a beautiful video of Russia when Elder Nelson was given the responsibility, through President Benson, to open doors where countries did not allow missionaries.  It took six years and it was an amazing time.  What memories! It eas families that had left Russia, joined the church, and then returned to their homeland that made it possible.  Russia required 20 members.  How else could that happen when missionary work was not allowed. Beautiful.

Two By Two

Today, the missionaries go two by two
In all the world to preach
Sharing the gospel.  That's what they do
And how they love to teach!

 I saw our missionary waiting ever hopeful for his investigator to come to church.  We share with another ward, so they get assigned to be with someone so we have a missionary each Sunday.

Freedom of Religion and Speech

It is always okay
To open your mouth and share
How you are blessed this day
Through Heavenly Father's care

He Can Reach the One You Teach

Each person you teach
Our Father can reach
Have faith and preach on
Your message is strong

You never know who is being prepared for the gospel.  Heavenly Father is capable of reaching all His children when the time is right.

The Missionary Invite

The Elders hold the power
To invite the spirit in
To homes that blessings shower
And a change is felt within!

It's all about the Work

Make a difference in the world
It is all about the work
When it's the lords time
His miracles unfurl

I just watched The Best Two Years.  I loved it and this thought struck me.

Now- Here They Come!

Now is the time to prepare
For the coming of the Lord!
We have the gospel to share!
We have light! We have His Word!

I am always amazed how young missionaries are always prepared to give us a message when we feed them.
