Make your feelings clear
Pray on, with one hand up
Never put a prayer on hold
Speak and listen with your heart
Tender mercy will unfold
As you give your better part

Pondering October 2017 conference
Pause and listen
Anew, reflect
What new lesson
Can you detect?
Pondering today's satellite broadcast and Elder Christofferson's words. He said many beautiful things. He spoke about those who have suffered misfortune, who are coping and recovering. God's love is felt as we give from the heart. A prophet is the best example of this. He has given if himself as a general authority for 54 years. Quoting Elder Hale's, "He has a Bishop's heart. Helping and blessing and looking after the needs of others. How can we honor him at this time when we don't hear from him? We can take this time as a blessing to pause on his words. Heed him. Reflect. This is a gift. A time to pause and ponder more deeply.
God has a plan
He knows what's ahead
Trust in His hand
And in faith be lead
There is a lot
To worry about
That is HIS job
Give not into doubt
In time, things work out

"I see a place where people have study groups again to provide support for those that need friends to talk to about the things they hear on the internet and social media. I see a place where people support one another, ask questions, resolve concerns, and speak honestly about the things that give them trouble in life and in the church. I see a time where “home-teaching” is just referred to as “ministering” and more lessons will revolve around love and not quotas. I see a time where “fellowshipping” will be replaced by “friend-shipping” and where pure love is a stronger motivator than guilt."https://www.gregtrimble.com/the-coming-revolution-inside-of-mormonism/#.WWqFBfxWOZI.facebook

You know how the Lord answered that question for the Prophet Joseph Smith in his prison cell:
“And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
“The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?
“Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever.”2There seems to me no better answer to the question of why trials come and what we are to do than the words of the Lord Himself, who passed through trials for us more terrible than we can imagine.
You remember His words when He counseled that we should, out of faith in Him, repent:
“Therefore I command you to repent—repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your sufferings be sore—how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not.
“For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;
“But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;
“Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—
“Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.”3 Doctrine and Covenants 19:15–19.

I tried to shout
Overs your doubts and fears
So what I taught
Would get past your ears
Sigh. I was teaching a student that was inconsistent. Saying, "I don't know" and shutting down. Nothing was working to help her gain confidence. I did what you are not supposed to do and raised my voice. She confessed she felt she was not good enough. She had been comparing herself to the best in the class. Maybe we both broke down and got to the root of our frustrations. Then...
Dad came to the rescue and he turned her attitude completely around and she accelerated very quickly.

Choose a religion.
Let it impart,
For you, a mission.

"When we think of peace we generally have in mind a region without war, a nation without strife, or a city without violence. But peace is more than the absence of conflict. Peace is the habit of engaging differences, the practice of negotiating disagreements between foes. It’s a culture of fairmindedness. Even the most peaceful societies have contention, but they don’t let it tear them apart."
"Peace has many factors — the history of a people, the structure of government, the economic environment and the level of political inclusion. Freedom of religion is also crucial. Countries that protect the diversity of religious experience tend to have fewer armed conflicts, greater civil and political liberties, greater press and economic freedoms, better health outcomes, higher levels of income, better education and higher overall human development.[3]"
"In the end, religious freedom is not about eliminating rivals and intimidating people into agreeing with the majority. Rather, religious freedom is about achieving peace among differences and reducing fear so everyone can have confidence in their lawful place in society."
