One day, Jesus' ministry began
When He came unto John, His cousin
He was baptized in the river Jordan
In the foothills of mount Herman
He then walked the Judean Desert
west of the vast Dead Sea.
The weather dry and arid
Here Satan came tempting three
He walked the ancient site of Jericho
To a settlement just to the South
He healed the blind, Bartimaeus
HIs miracles traveled by word of mouth
Near the Sea of Galilee
He taught and fed four thousand
He walked on water quietly
Seas and demons He'd command
He walked far north of Israel
and healed a possessed daughter
And north of Galilee more miracles
A boy was healed! What joy of that father!
He walked to a well in Samaria
Where most Jews walked far off, around
And taught of living water
That He, the Messiah, she had found
He walked into Bethany
Where Lazarus had passed away
And commanded him out of the tomb
Wow! A dead man rose to walk that day
At the famed Pool of Bethesda
A man walked freed from disability
At the pool of Siloam -some mud and
a man born blind washed and could see
He suffered man's depths of Hell
In the Garden of Gethsemane
Endured scourging and mocking
And in Golgotha was hung on a tree
Like the flint of a rock
Midst shifting sands that spurn
He did not run or walk
But remained solid and firm
Midst shifting sands that spurn
He did not run or walk
But remained solid and firm
When He could endure yet no more,
Knowing His task was complete,
He bowed His head and died, the Lord!
Knowing His task was complete,
He bowed His head and died, the Lord!
From the bitter came the sweet!
spurn: strike, tread, or push away with the foot:"with one touch of my feet, I spurn the solid Earth"
