Our mothers on the Sabbath day
And express how we appreciate
All the sacrifices she has made
For without her where would we be?
And without Christ where would we go?
Our ties go on for eternity
Because of our Savior, I know! Our MotherOur mother has charity
She's full of benevolence
As she patterns purity
And cherishes innocence
She serves selflessly, unfeigned
For peace, she negotiates
Angels cannot be restrained
They're as her associates
And when there is but pittance
With faith and with networking
Her arms extend the distance
And puts to place faith working
Our mother's good heart supplies
Tenderness and beauty
And when to her ears one cries
She knows what is her duty
On Mother's Day can she rest?
That depends on who helps her
Perhaps we can do our best
On this day, to be Mother
.....
Come the day, when she is gone
What will we feel everywhere?
Her love went to everyone
As she extended her kind care
....
The day's here, Mother is gone
No longer to telephone
Part of her stays- life goes on
I hear her voice in my own
Home is not a place
At the heart of America
Are mothers who nurture
In the home love empowers all
To pursue their future
Wise, she knows her gift of time is a small price
Every cleaning, every story, every hug
Every blessed meal, is a selfless sacrifice
To build up souls, each labor speaks of love
The quiet power of mothers
Is the strength of her faith
She builds courage in her sons and daughters
Life's trials they must face
The mother inspires each child
To pursue their talents within
To budget and manage their time
And to value all that God has given
Melania Trump has a quiet way of speaking in a way that we don't doubt of her strength- her faith.

On both sides of the veil
She visits graves
And all of us without fail
I have seen her place flowers into a mason jar and put special stuff on it so the deer won't eat the tasty flowers. Then she distributes them to loved ones at the cemetery who have passed on. Then she waits for calls and visits from all of us. That is her Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Lifting, bending, and twisting
Every day in their homes
A young mother's existing
To find for what she combs
Under the couch and loveseat
Are toys and books and things
Wherever the children meet
With them there's much each brings
Perhaps one day she can rest
While the children stay calm
And even though they are at breast
There's nothing in her palm
As she captures the moment
She sees her best reward
Her precious children are lent
And she is the steward
This world busily demands
And children know this too
Yet, a mother understands
And knows just what to do
There's not a more worthy role
Than that of motherhood
And though it takes its toll
She'd striving as she should
She relies on her instincts
As each child's so diff'rent
Though her daily tasks may stink
At home she is content
A child's in need of well-being
While in formative years
And thus must have a routine
Or are oft found in tears
And so there's times of frustration
As things are overlooked
She makes a correlation
And knows she's overbooked
Each family needs unstructured time
When they can laugh and play
That's when bonding becomes prime
And shining joys display
Every good thing is brought to pass
By small and simple things
Like moments in photograph
Can capture the heart strings
So when a daughter of God's giv'n
A day to spend her way
All her thoughts while away she's liv'n
Are of them- thus, she prays
This is how the church is preserved
And we must give her aid
For while her role is observed
Firm foundations are laid
What's the best use of her spare time?
That she draw from the well
And, that she enrich her life
In what she may excel

thoughts from Invisible Woman

Her kiss tickles my wee nose
Her sweet lullabies tenderly teach
As her eyes speak of love with each
A mother is as warm as a throw
As a snuggle safe to know
On her lap her arms wrap me up close
And I stay awake...well almost
Is incredibly like no other
Witness the power of her touch...
Born within, we are made for such
Grandmother's intuition: This reminds me of the story of a future prophet's birth. He would not breathe and the grandma's dipped him in alternately warm & cold water to keep him alive.
https://www.thechurchnews.com/1990/10/13/23261278/pres-benson-born-prepared-to-be-prophet/
At his birth, doctors couldn't get baby Ezra to breathe. His grandmothers dipped him in pans of cold and warm water until finally they heard a cry. "Later both grandmothers bore testimony that the Lord had spared the child," said Elder Washburn.
The Stripling Warriors with Faith from Their Mothers
Numbered but two thousand
At best they were juniors
But their devotion was grand
For they did not doubt
What their mother’s knew
As they went about
Their faith grew and grew
They pledged they would fight
For, their father’s could not
As they grew in might
With courage, they fought
In God they trusted
As their swords swung about
Though soon blood encrusted...
They answered each shout
Then, as the dust settled
And the battle was through
The youth assembled
And astonishment grew
Though some wounds were great
And there were many dead
Not one youth fell to fate
And, some enemies had fled!
With help from their mother's
And their leader Helaman
These two thousand brothers
Each rose to be a man
For the Latter day
Great youth have been reserved
As they grow in faith
May they, too, be preserved
They must take on armor
To fight off the foe
And the battle they arm for
Is the greatest man will know
Alma 57: 26
And now, their preservation was astonishing to our whole army, yea, that they should be spared while there was a thousand of our brethren who were slain. And we do justly ascribe it to the miraculous power of God, because of their exceeding faith in that which they had been taught to believe—that there was a just God, and whosoever did not doubt, that they should be preserved by his marvelous power.
An ideal of womanhood
Loyalty she understood
Naomi was struck with grief
She bid Ruth "Do not leave.
You are my daughter-in-law,
My sole source to live off of.
And, gone two sons, I've no relief "
Ruth obeyed for she too grieved
Though foreign she would tarry
Ruth was told whom to marry
And Christ came through her gene pool
As she lodged with God's people
Who made each day count,
There was laughter
And wonder about.
One day she died...
Mysteriously fast!
The mother tried
To make the memories last.
Often she felt half dead
Missing those magical days.
Constantly prayers were said,
Seeking to understand God's ways.
Then, one day, new life
Stirred wondrously within!
The future now looked bright.
Tender mercy had been given!
Once a memorial of her
The girl's room was remodeled and cleaned
Purpose grew within the mother
And with hope for the future, she dreamed
Grief grew in my heart
And filled me with dread
Which tore me apart
My daughter would soon leave
And cross the ocean deep
Then a thought began to weave
A strand of hope to keep
I took a great ball of yarn
My bon voyage gift to send
To teach no matter how far
A mother's love will not end
"Don't forget us," I said
And placed the ball in her hand
"Let it unravel as you sail ahead"
While I hold the trailing strand
For as long as I could see
Her tear filled eyes never left mine
Others waved, but no, not me
I held on still with all my might
And then, I saw the last
As her arms waved up high
I became but the past
And let go... whispering, "Good-bye"
Where are we going, why must we roam?
Come, come along, my dear precious one
We are going to live in Zion
There we'll build the city of our God
Come follow me, hold my hand and come...
How much longer on the ship? I'm sick
We've traveled so long on this Atlantic
Yes, the quarters are small, the voyage long
But, we're together. Let's sing a glad song
With faith in the Lord we'll be made strong
We'll soon be in Zion, where we belong...
I feel so very sick, I feel so weak
Do you see land? Please, Mommy, go and peek
Yes, you stay with Mary and hold her hand
She has been too weak to even stand
Her lips are pale and I greatly fear
She's soon to pass through this vale of tears...
Why must we bury her out to sea?
Can we sing a song for dear Mary?
The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away
Yes, little child, let's sing and let's pray
If we do according to God's will
He promises us we've His peace, be still...
Why must we walk so long and so far
Can I sit up there, high inside the cart?
We need to keep moving, just to stay warm
Come, and I will hold you under my arm
Here we must step and here we must press on
Until we reach the city of Zion...
Is this our new home, this little dugout?
Is this what Zion is really about?
This quilt can be our door for this winter
For now all we need is quick shelter
We've sacrificed much and we have conquered
May our trials always be remembered...
(One-sixth, died on the journey- there to slumber.)
They did it for you and for me- now- look at our numbers!
Thomas S. Monson, "Come Follow Me,"
Ensign, Jul 1988, 2

Your routine to climb on
You need perspective for putting
You, where you'll be strong
Let your weaknesses make you strong!"
"If you stutter, cannot read, or see much
Greatness has come out of conquering such!"
Waiting to heal
Holding to hope
To once again feel
The bloom of home
The news. The bleeding. The tears! The baby wasn't able to make it to term and would not have survive the delivery if she had made it. It is such a shock to come to that realization when you are already feeling life inside. She had fallen on a walk while visiting my husband and I. It was at the emergency room where they ran tests that she discovered this. I wish you could have seen the loving way she covered her arms over her small "bump" of a child, as though she wanted to hold her and protect her from all of this information. I long to see a baby in her arms.

A respite from daily life
On this day we receive Jesus
And are renewed, save this wife...
For a little one just cried
And she had to take him out
In the foyer, here she tried
But still all could hear that shout
So she walked down the hall
Exhausted all the while
She, too, wanted to bawl
For this mother, it's a trial!
This is the sweetest talk ever!

But I wonder if I've been overlooking one of the most important things that I can do on the Sabbath—namely, help my wife actually have a Sabbath day. President Nelson recently said that he believes that God wants “us to understand that the Sabbath was His gift to us, granting real respite from the rigors of daily life and an opportunity for spiritual and physical renewal.”
Who is the One?
Who is the one who always tries
To see the world with child-like eyes
To light the world with magic and love
It is the mother whom we speak of
Who is the one who believes in us
And for that purpose, gives service
To light our path endlessly
It is through the mother that we see
"What does the Bible say about Christian mothers?" Got Questions Ministries, n.d. Web.
Answer: Being a mother is a very important role that the Lord chooses to give to many women. A Christian mother is told to love her children (Titus 2:4-5), in part so that she does not bring reproach on the Lord and on the Savior whose name she bears.
Children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3-5). In Titus 2:4, the Greek word philoteknos appears in reference to mothers loving their children. This word represents a special kind of “mother love.” The idea that flows out of this word is that of caring for our children, nurturing them, affectionately embracing them, meeting their needs, and tenderly befriending each one as a unique gift from the hand of God.
Several things are commanded of Christian mothers in God’s Word:
Availability – morning, noon, and night (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
Involvement – interacting, discussing, thinking, and processing life together (Ephesians 6:4)
Teaching – the Scriptures and a biblical worldview (Psalm 78:5-6; Deuteronomy 4:10; Ephesians 6:4)
Training – helping a child to develop skills and discover his/her strengths (Proverbs 22:6) and spiritual gifts (Romans 12:3-8 and 1 Corinthians 12)
Discipline – teaching the fear of the Lord, drawing the line consistently, lovingly, firmly (Ephesians 6:4; Hebrews 12:5-11; Proverbs 13:24; 19:18; 22:15; 23:13-14; 29:15-17)
Nurture – providing an environment of constant verbal support, freedom to fail, acceptance, affection, unconditional love (Titus 2:4; 2 Timothy 1:7; Ephesians 4:29-32; 5:1-2; Galatians 5:22; 1 Peter 3:8-9)
Modeling with Integrity – living what you say, being a model from which a child can learn by “catching” the essence of godly living (Deuteronomy 4:9, 15, 23; Proverbs 10:9; 11:3; Psalm 37:18, 37).
Sweetly- you’ve touched mine
Faith and charity you impart
Giving of yourself and time
Mother, you are an inspiration
This is your legacy
So bright with dedication
…Your passing saddens me
Lately, I hold myself close
Wishing you were here
At times, I hear you speak almost
And it brings to me a tear
Oh mother, mine
I miss your voice
It's been a long time
Without you there’s a void
A shining pillar of motherhood
Your example was good and faithful
Always bringing life to the mood
I enjoyed that you were playful
I miss you every day and night
The way you loved and cared
Thanks for being such a light
For the memories we’ve shared
I miss your touch
It's been a long time
I miss you. Oh, so much!
Thank you Tim for inspiring this poem.
For putting to words so much that is
true about Mothers... and how they are missed.
Our Angel Mother
Our angel mother, now with Jesus,
Has powers like never before.
For, sometimes we feel her among us
Teaching more what families are for!
Dear Mom, "Thank you" Though You Are Gone
In just two words,
Dear Mom, "Thank you"
I cried, you heard
You held me close
You kissed my cheek
And wiped my nose
You made me smile
Tickling my toes
You taught safety
And how to pray
You have shaped me
Into who I am today
All that I am
Started through your care
You taught me right
To be kind and to share
You were my life
And showed the way
You brought new light
Into every day
And now you're gone
But I still hear
Your loving voice
This brings you near
Shaping my soul
I thank you so!!
[Verse 1] Dear Mom, Thank you I cried, you heard You held me close You kissed my cheek And wiped my nose You made me smile Tickling my toes (You made me smile) [Pre-Chorus] You taught safety And how to pray You shaped me Into who I am today All that I am Started through your care You taught me right To be kind and to share [Chorus] Dear Mom, thank you Dear Mom, thank you You were my life You showed the way Dear Mom, thank you Dear Mom, thank you You brought new light Into every day [Verse 2] And now you're gone But I still hear Your loving voice This brings you near Shaping my soul I hold you close In every step In all I know (I hold you close) [Pre-Chorus] You taught safety And how to pray You shaped me Into who I am today All that I am Started through your care You taught me right To be kind and to share [Chorus] Dear Mom, thank you Dear Mom, thank you You were my life You showed the way Dear Mom, thank you Dear Mom, thank you You brought new light Into every day [Bridge] And if I stumble I hear you near Your hands still guide me Through every tear I carry your love Wherever I go In my heart forever You still glow (You still glow) [Final Chorus] Dear Mom, thank you Dear Mom, thank you You were my life You showed the way Dear Mom, thank you Dear Mom, thank you You brought new light Into every day Dear Mom, thank you Dear Mom, thank you Shaping my soul I thank you so
I Held Your Hand and Touched the Veil
So thin and frail
And felt as if
I touched the veil
I knew the moment
You had gone
You left this world
Yet still live on

Motherhood Womanhood Relief Society
She gives relief to the poor
The needy and the distressed
For souls she does so much more
According to how she's impressed
She knows a heavenly mandate
Has been given to her to lead
Women of the world to a more divine state
Through her grand example indeed
As evil and darkness threaten
She holds her lamp brightly lit
And speaks of God in heaven
That she and others will profit

thoughts from:
From Our History
At a June 9, 1842, meeting of the Relief Society, the Prophet Joseph Smith taught the sisters that their society was “not only to relieve the poor, but to save souls.” 1 This statement of a spiritual as well as a temporal purpose has characterized Relief Society throughout its history. In 1906 President Joseph F. Smith (1838–1918) taught: “[Relief Society] has not only to deal with the necessities of the poor, the sick and the needy, but a part of its duty—and the larger part, too—is to look after the spiritual welfare and salvation of the mothers and daughters of Zion; to see that none is neglected, but that all are guarded against misfortune, calamity, the powers of darkness, and the evils that threaten them in the world.” 2 In 2001 Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles reiterated, “Every sister in this Church who has made covenants with the Lord has a divine mandate to help save souls, to lead the women of the world, to strengthen the homes of Zion, and to build the kingdom of God.” 3
The Easter Dress
A little girl in her new Easter dress
Covered her eyes as though a princess
Not to ignore, but in fun to play
Hide and see in a peek a boo way
And for her I sang a special song
As a single tear trickled along
Memories spilled of a yester year
To flow upon me all so clear
My mothers voice and her piano
As she rejoiced, her face all aglow
Now my eyes have opened and I can see!
T'was love she had been sharing with me!
My mom always bought new dresses for her four daughters. When we were little, she made them.
Because I knew their mother
There's a bond that we share
I can reach them like no other...
With their mother's care
You may ask how I do this?
Oft times it's through prayer
Softening me, to notice
A special love so rare
Someday when, again, I see her
I hope she will approve
Right now it brings, to me a tear
Knowing what death cannot remove
For their heavenly work is like no others
Enduring well the hardships they carry
They make their home a sanctuary
For a woman will smile when she wants to scream
Lending to others energy to dream
Here is a tribute for all that she does
Selflessly and just because
She sings whenever she wants to cry
And believes in others when they try
She laughs at herself when she grows nervous
Yet offers strength to others for their purpose
She'll fight for the things that she believes in
And inspire others to grow from within
She'll stand up against any known injustice
And put evil thoughts and deeds on notice

Here's to Women
And she knows how to get her word heard
For since a solution’s just a prayer away
She will turn to God that very day
She will go without so her family can have
And of what she has she will gladly give half
She cheers with delight for those who excel
And strengthens those whose hope has grown pale
She, with the angels, when a friend dies
Responds to tears with their own heartfelt cries
Her love can heal a tender broken heart
Such is the power her hug and kisses impart
A woman – in all her shapes, sizes, and colors
Yes... is the one who notices others
She will drive, fly, walk, and run just to reach you
Thus showing how much she ever cares, too
The heart of a woman is what keeps the world turning
Keeping joy, hope, and love continually burning
Women have vital things to say and everything to give
Here’s to good women- where ever they work, serve, and live!

mother of 7 grandmother of 13
I am an empty nest with one grandchild. I had the strangest dream last night. My husband and I were on vacation. Passing through, we went to visit one of our married children. I offered to watch the grandkids and relieve them overnight. I thought of errands to do and surprise them. We ran into friends and I invited them to dinner. I then saw something my husband could easily fix while grandkids were scrambling about. I was cooking- a lot was needing to be attended to. Having to go to the bathroom, I called out to my husband to quickly get to something in the kitchen. He called back he was equally busy. And I called back to him explaining I was using the bathroom...and woke up almost wetting the bed!
I had two revelations- I always offer my husband to help others and get too busy to use the bathroom.
In bond from the start
Their love like no other
So born of the heart
The daughter to leave
And work the Lord's vineyard
But, near the call's eve
A tragedy entered
The accident was bad
Their injuries too grave
Such the love that they had
Was this call for heaven saved?
Leaving this earth together
Knowing the daughter's call
We're certain of their new endeavor-
To serve our God with their all
With Outreached Hands, I Heard Him Say "Mom!" My Elder Returns
Thinking of all the mothers getting phone calls...Then there is the reunion of reunions. He is home!
With out reached hands
I heard him say "Mom!"
Now here he stands
I have waited so long
What a relief!
He'd been on the plane
I'd felt disbelief
Till he called out my name
Who is this man
That's come home to me?
He with a tan
While it's fifty degrees?
All that he owns
Is at this airport
No car, no phone
No college or sport
But what he has
Money can't buy
An elder badge
With a suit and tie
We hugged and we talked
I couldn't help but stare
Unaware where we walked
There was so much to share
Then I realized
He was not the same
As though before my eyes
Pieces of others with him came
A part of him
I've never known
It shows in his grin
And the way that he's grown!
Mother, Hero Son and Angels
To put another first
And let all fears go
Regardless of the worst
But, perhaps there is more
Than strength, in the end
Through faith upon the Lord
Unseen hands attend
But, the story goes on
One gunman turned himself in
It did not take him long
For his conscience burned within
Cedar Rapids, Iowa 10-Year-Old Hero Shot Protecting Mom From Gunmen “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13 Masked gunmen broke into 10-year-old Cameron’s house and proceeded to point a gun directly in his mother’s face. Cameron, without hesitation, tackled one of the men, at which point the gun was fired, ripping through the 10-year-old’s forearm. Leaving him and his mother, the gunmen fled the scene, seemingly aware of the reality of what they had just done. Fortunately Cameron will be fine, his wound was fairly minor and he doesn’t regret a moment of his bravery. He says he knows that God was protecting him and his mother that day, and it certainly would seem that way. Read more at https://faithhub.net/10-year-old-hero-shot/
This is a similar story- 19 year old protecting his mother...a miracle...
The Lord will do the rest
Put your trust in His hand
Believe...you will be blessed
Wherever in this world you may be
The Lord knows you and listens to your prayers
He loves you and wants you to succeed
And to the seeker, He freely shares

The Influence of Righteous Women
Liahona, Sept. 2009, 2–7
"Blessings beyond Imagining
As you live up to this mission, in whatever life circumstance you find yourself—as a wife, as a mother, as a single mother, as a divorced woman, as a widowed or a single woman—the Lord our God will open up responsibilities and blessings far beyond your ability to imagine.
May I invite you to rise to the great potential within you. But don’t reach beyond your capacity. Don’t set goals beyond your capacity to achieve. Don’t feel guilty or dwell on thoughts of failure. Don’t compare yourself with others. Do the best you can, and the Lord will provide the rest. Have faith and confidence in Him, and you will see miracles happen in your life and the lives of your loved ones. The virtue of your own life will be a light to those who sit in darkness, because you are a living witness of the fulness of the gospel (see D&C 45:28). Wherever you have been planted on this beautiful but often troubled earth of ours, you can be the one to “succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees” (D&C 81:5).
My dear sisters, as you live your daily life with all its blessings and challenges, let me assure you that the Lord loves you. He knows you. He listens to your prayers, and He answers those prayers, wherever on this world you may be. He wants you to succeed in this life and in eternity."
The wounded worried soul
Her influence is real
She has a sacred role
To love, teach, nurture,
Watch over and nourish
She frames our future
Through her, hope can flourish
"No woman who understands the gospel would ever say, “I am just a mother,” for mothers heal the souls of men." [Verse 1]
A mother's touch can heal
The wounded, worried soul
She sees you when you break
And makes the heavy whole
Her hands are steady maps
In the dark, in the rain
She lifts the fallen parts
And calls you back again
[Pre-Chorus]
To love, teach, nurture
She carries that flame
Watch over and nourish
She does it in your name
[Chorus]
A mother's touch can heal
A mother's touch can heal
Her influence is real
She frames our future
Through her, hope can flourish
Through her, hope can flourish
She has a sacred role
A mother's touch can heal
[Verse 2]
She bends to tie the knot
She wipes the tears away
She knows the quiet words
That make the storm obey
From first steps to first scars
She stays through every mile
And in her simplest glance
You learn to stand and smile
[Pre-Chorus]
To love, teach, nurture
She carries that flame
Watch over and nourish
She does it in your name
[Chorus]
A mother's touch can heal
A mother's touch can heal
Her influence is real
She frames our future
Through her, hope can flourish
Through her, hope can flourish
She has a sacred role
A mother's touch can heal
[Bridge]
When my world runs thin
And my courage feels small
I hear her voice within
Like a steady call
If I ever rise
If I ever bloom
There's a kind of grace
That began with you
[Final Chorus]
A mother's touch can heal
A mother's touch can heal
Her influence is real
She frames our future
Through her, hope can flourish
Through her, hope can flourish
She has a sacred role
A mother's touch can heal Ponder PatientlyPonder patiently Looking for light Sought spiritually Pointing to Christ Come Follow Me pg 10 Jesus told the leaders of the Jews to "search the scriptures " explaining that they "testify of me." The emotion of a mother
Left without her son
A pain like no other
T'was more true with this one
He of humble nature
Had served all selflessly
The hope of the future
Now lay cold...breathlessly
Her life had become empty
Grown dark as the night
He'd suffered so greatly!
What could offer her light?
From humble birth without a room
He'd submitted to all that came
His body in a borrowed tomb
What would become of His good name?
She would attend to His last needs
And care for His battered body
Remembering His greatest deeds
Which He'd done for everybody
Then word came, His body was gone?
The stone had been rolled away!
He had risen along with the dawn
And, oh, the brightness of day!
What greater joy could a mother know
Than that her child will live again
Overcome with tears endless in flow
Life would go on without an end
We ask, "what is rational law?"
Is it what society can tolerate
Or rather what is best for all?
Children do best on every measure
When raised by their mother and father
Marriage is an institution to treasure
As it provides stability like no other
"At the heart of the debate is whether marriage as between a man and a woman benefits society and is therefore a rational law. We know the answer to those questions is undoubtedly "yes"--as well as the fact that kids do best on every measure of well-being when raised by their mom and dad. Not only do children benefit from marriage, though: couples who are married are much more likely to be healthy and financially stable."
"We fully expect that this case will eventually find its way to the U.S. Supreme Court and become a landmark case on the issue of marriage. We will continue to keep you updated on the case's progress and how it could impact your family and what your children will be taught about marriage in public schools."
"Thank you for your prayers on behalf of marriage and for our elected officials in Washington. "

How much we love you, on this day
We have prepared to give you rest
For you deserve the very best
Read this book and recline
Take a nap...it is your time
We have planned each meal for you
And we will do the dishes too
Late in the day, we've planned more
We will watch the sunset and cook s'mores
Then go to bed at the time you say
How, we love you, Happy Mother's Day!

Comes a very special Day
For mother, of whom I'm a part
To honor her and her good heart
Her smile is like the sunshine rays
It is her love that warms my days,
She gives me strength and hope to dream,
And sends me buoyed upon life's stream
