Angel Mother Sent

Mommy didn't want to go

She fought through cancer, to live

Her love for you, both, still grows

As an angel mother sent

Her words could not come out

To prepare and say goodbye

God is real. Do not doubt

In a dream, she slipped away

She endured to the end

It was love that carried her

Yes again and again

Leaving you both worried her

In all your special moments

She will definitely be there

You'll feel the heavens open

You will feel her everywhere

Remember to say your prayers

And know she watches as you sleep

Remember to take best care

Of love in forever's keep

When reading of children losing their mother to cancer and looking at the family pictures brings you to tears, don't think it is creepy.  It is from the celebration of the love they have and feeling the pain they are going through.

Day By Day- Grief

Alone with the ticking of the clock

And the shadows growing longer

The bed holds an empty place for love

And a memory of when I was younger

I sleep all alone

In a room dark and grey

I am on my own

I keep going- day by day

Still I've a purpose out there

It is for me to find

I lean hard to God in prayer

To put sorrow behind

I'll stretch my boundaries

And reconnect with life

My best advice for those married

Oh, cherish your sweet wife!

Grief

Another wave of mourning
The grief, new tears blur my eyes
I hang on to the memories
Then... add thoughts of you, bright, in Heaven's skies

Doors of Death

Broken into two songs:

A crucial component of life
Comes at the doors of death
When we lose a husband or wife
We feel lost and bereft
The separation evokes pangs
Of loneliness and shock
Where this heavy door hangs
There's an unbearable clock

The younger the greater the grief
They're seen as a victim
The tragedy's beyond belief
The loved one's far stricken
Yet, even when the infirm are called
Though it gives them relief
In some way they had stalled
And their last good-bye seems brief

The deepest expression of love
Is to mourn for those we've lost
We've divine command from above
To weep when there's a loss
The only way to avoid tears
Is to remove all the love
Oh, the reunion with our dears
When we return to home above!

God's our primary directive
Spiritually for handling
When we've eternal perspective
We've peace past understanding
Life does not begin with birth
Nor does it end with death
Prior to birth we had worth
We'll go on without breath

As seedlings of God while on earth
We were born to die and then live
From blossoms to flowers of worth
We've a journey with a motive
To everything there's a season,
A time, a plan, and a purpose
We each are here for a reason
And life's lessons will further us

Home Above

Verse 1] a crucial component of life comes at death when we lose a husband or wife we feel lost and bereft the separation evokes pangs of loneliness and shock where this heavy door hangs there's an unbearable clock the younger the greater the grief they're seen as a victim the tragedy's beyond belief [Pre-Chorus] the loved one's far stricken yet even when the infirm are called though it gives them relief in some way they had stalled and their last good bye seems brief [Chorus] the deepest expression of love is to mourn for those we've lost we've divine command from above to weep when there's a loss the only way to avoid tears is to remove all the love oh the reunion with our dears when we return to home above [Verse 2] god's our primary directive spiritually for handling when we've eternal perspective we're peace past understanding life does not begin with birth nor does it end with death prior to birth we had worth we'll go on without breath [Pre-Chorus] as seedlings of god while on earth we were born to die and then live from blossoms to flowers of worth [Chorus] the deepest expression of love is to mourn for those we've lost we've divine command from above to weep when there's a loss the only way to avoid tears is to remove all the love oh the reunion with our dears when we return to home above [Bridge] we've a journey with a motive to everything there's a season a time a plan and a purpose we each are here for a reason and life's lessons will further us [Final Chorus] the deepest expression of love is to mourn for those we've lost we've divine command from above to weep when there's a loss the only way to avoid tears is to remove all the love oh the reunion with our dears when we return to home above

We pass through- not around deaths doors
On a returning trip
To live with the Father once more
Though trials we would to skip
Deaths essential to happiness
And there's life beyond the veil
If we could just peek and witness-
How we'd prepare there to dwell!

For, this much we know within
The real sting of death is sin
As the spirit's mortified
From God, separate, and denied
With opportunity gone
As we see clearly each wrong
That of our sins, we'll not be saved
Except we repent, and have them waived

The twilight of life is long
It's difficult to be strong
We must endure physically
And learn to cope spiritually
We've a divine injunction
To endure till there's no function
With heavy hardships how we lean
But, with them much can be gleaned

We must endure our trials
And suffer long with kind smiles
We'll pattern after the Lord
Through suffering, He loved, adored
And after tribulation
We're promised blessing's station
Our life is temporary
Then there's extraordinary

Returned to God and His home
Where a state of rest is known
This is temporary still
According to our Father's will
The grave must deliver up
The body and spirit cuff
To become a living soul
That's immortal in its new role

Our bodies will be perfect
As they are no longer subject
With eternal laws employed
These bodies can't be destroyed
Then comes the day of our Lord
Where our judgment is offered
There we'll be judged of our works
Presided by Christ and not clerks

Those who've almost to death crashed
Report seeing their whole life flashed
Having a rapid recall
They saw good and bad- It all
There's a sense of returning
And of a bright light burning
Some have seen their ancestors
But, their time was not answered

They live to tell us of peace
We know that life will increase
This is our time to prepare
We can bless others with kind care
Be generous and give thanks
And seal unto your family its ranks
For with loved ones close to enjoy
Death's door will be sweet unto joy

When our departure's at hand
May the veil of death be thin
As loved ones on both sides stand
There's comfort to journey in
Death does not hold one hostage
But, it will come eventually
When we've reached our time full-fledged
Then we slip away ever so gently

For Now This is Goodbye

You died suddenly,

I was unprepared to let you go

I feel for our family

And how to grieve, we want to know

Some share their own stories

Their experience is a comfort

I know I'm not along

And I've found the help I've sought for

You were so special to me

There's a hole in my heart

I shake my head, it's crazy

I won't see you again, it's hard

No more laughter and long talks

No more being real on long walks

No more time with you my friend

But, I know this life is not the end

So here I am saying goodbye

I've been told it's ok to cy

I love you and I miss you

For now, this is goodbye

Verse 1] You died suddenly I was unprepared to let you go I feel for my family And how to grieve, we want to know Some share their own stories Their experience is a comfort I know I'm not along And I've found the help I've sought for [Chorus] For now, this is goodbye For now, this is goodbye I love you and I miss you I hold you in my mind [Verse 2] You were so special to me There's a hole in my heart I shake my head, it's crazy I won't see you again, it's hard No more laughter and long talks No more being real on long walks No more time with you my friend But, I know this life is not the end [Chorus] For now, this is goodbye For now, this is goodbye I love you and I miss you I hold you in my mind [Bridge] So here I am saying goodbye I've been told it's ok to cy I love you and I miss you For now, this is goodbye [Chorus] For now, this is goodbye For now, this is goodbye I love you and I miss you I hold you in my mind

Rene Cain, grieve all you need.

Little Sparks

The sunrises, the sunsets

The routines, the long walks

The nights in the shadows

The whispers and long talks

The dreams of tomorrows

When there's no one left

To remember your story

When they all have passed

You've still those days of glory

Making a game of chores

Of setting up camp

Of carrying things indoors

The sweet hugs, the laughs

The big oopsys

The funny moments

The wild crazys

Let the tears open

Your own little mark

On the earth before you go

Each a little spark

Adds light for others to grow

[Verse 1] The sunrises, the sunsets The routines, the long walks The nights in the shadows The whispers and long talks The dreams of tomorrows When there's no one left To remember your story When they all have passed [Pre-Chorus] You've still those days of glory Making a game of chores Of setting up camp Of carrying things indoors [Chorus] Little sparks, little sparks (Add a little spark) Sweet hugs, the laughs (The funny moments, the wild crazys) Little sparks, little sparks (Add a little spark) On the earth before you go Let it light the road [Verse 2] The sweet hugs, the laughs The big oopsys The funny moments The wild crazys Let the tears open Your own little mark On the earth before you go Each a little spark [Pre-Chorus] Each a little spark Adds light for others to grow If your hands got tired You still left a glow [Chorus] Little sparks, little sparks (Add a little spark) Sweet hugs, the laughs (The funny moments, the wild crazys) Little sparks, little sparks (Add a little spark) On the earth before you go Let it light the road [Bridge] When the room goes quiet When the names fade out What you gave in motion Still moves on now So leave the bread half-broken Leave the floor well-worn Leave a mark that guides them After you are gone [Final Chorus] Little sparks, little sparks (Add a little spark) Sweet hugs, the laughs (The funny moments, the wild crazys) Little sparks, little sparks (Add a little spark) On the earth before you go Let it light the road Little sparks, little sparks (Add a little spark) Each a little spark Still lighting the road

Thank you . he absolutely loved camping and we would have a game of how fast we could get everything ready for camping and at camp how fast we could set up. he loved watching sunsets with me. he would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed help

A marriage is the most intimate of bonds. You come together, and each one becomes part of a whole, almost a single being. Every thought, every decision, is affected by them, is made with the understanding of what they want and need You fall into a routine of facing the world together, relying on each other, working like a perfect team. It becomes what defines you. And suddenly, they are gone. No closure, no reason for it that you can wrap your head around, and suddenly your reason for so much of what you did, isnt there anymore. Its damned hard, the absence never goes away, some days ypu dont even want to leave the house, even though everywhere you look you see artifacts they left behind...a coffee mug, a shirt hanging in the back of the closet, a thousand different things You sometimes feelnisolated from the rest of the world, and cant remember how to reach out and engage with people anymore. But you have to keep on, keep surviving one day at a time. Because, thats what they would want you to do. You arent alone. And you are understood

He was 36 when he died. Everything died with him & to be cut off like that hurts. Talking helps so if you'd like to talk about him, please share. Many of us are out there that will listen.

Vilomah- Grief When You Outlive Your Children

You can be the best parent

Giving love day to day

But life can change in an instant

Your children can pass away

Then, with no one to pass on

Gone the loved ones you lived for

This is called vilomah

Or against the natural order

This grief cuts the deepest of all

For gone is your heart, in part

Mourning your hope of the future

Before it could ever start

The Bible shows this kind of sorrow

When David wept bitterly for his son

Or Job whose children were robbed of tomorrows

Still, for greatness these men were not done

Grief can strike you to the core

Even to make it hard to breathe

Ever there's strength in the Lord

Who tends to your wounds, as you grieve

If you know someone who suffers

From Vilomah, just love on them

Fill their empty arms with hugs, often

And be a listening ear

Pastor Greg Locke

@pastorlocke

Sanskrit word “Vilomah” — it means “against the natural order.” That’s why this grief cuts so much deeper. It’s not just losing someone you love — it’s losing a part of your future, your heart, and everything you hoped for. It’s completely unnatural. It’s confusing. It takes your breath away. The Bible shows us this kind of sorrow, like when David wept bitterly for Absalom or when Job lost all his children in one day. It shakes a parent to the core. The pain doesn’t really go away. It just changes.
But thank God, He is close to the brokenhearted and He binds up their wounds. If you know a parent who’s been through this, just love on them, sit with them, and give them grace. They need it more than you know

You can be the best parent Giving love day to day But life can change in an instant Your children can pass away Then, with no one to pass on Gone the loved ones you lived for This is called vilomah Or against the natural order [Pre-Chorus] This grief cuts the deepest of all For gone is your heart, in part Mourning your hope of the future Before it could ever start [Chorus] Vilomah Vilomah Against the natural order Vilomah Vilomah God, hold what was torn asunder [Verse 2] The Bible shows this kind of sorrow When David wept bitterly for his son Or Job whose children were robbed of tomorrows Still, for greatness these men were not done Grief can strike you to the core Even to make it hard to breathe Ever there's strength in the Lord Who tends to your wounds, as you grieve [Pre-Chorus] This grief cuts the deepest of all For gone is your heart, in part Mourning your hope of the future Before it could ever start [Chorus] Vilomah Vilomah Against the natural order Vilomah Vilomah God, hold what was torn asunder [Bridge] If you know someone who suffers From Vilomah, just love on them Fill their empty arms with hugs, often And be a listening ear for them [Final Chorus] Vilomah Vilomah Against the natural order Vilomah Vilomah
God, hold what was torn asunder.

It Hurts a Bunch- Grief

Losing a loved one

Sickens like a gut punch

There are no words

Except it hurts...a bunch

Then time dulls the pain

And the words come out

You feel joy again

As you share about

Still, memories...pain

A rip, a tear, a hole

In your heart a space

That will never be whole

[Verse 1] Losing a loved one Sickens like a gut punch There are no words Except it hurts...a bunch Then time dulls the pain And the words come out You feel joy again As you share about [Pre-Chorus] Still it catches you Out of nowhere One small memory And you’re back there It hits your chest Then lets you go But the scar stays Down below [Chorus] It hurts a bunch It hurts a bunch Say their name And it stings so much It hurts a bunch It hurts a bunch Love stays on Even when they’re gone [Verse 2] Still, memories...pain A rip, a tear, a hole In your heart a space That will never be whole But a laugh comes back In the middle of night And for one sweet breath It feels almost right [Pre-Chorus] Still it catches you Out of nowhere One small memory And you’re back there It hits your chest Then lets you go But the scar stays Down below [Chorus] It hurts a bunch It hurts a bunch Say their name And it stings so much It hurts a bunch It hurts a bunch Love stays on Even when they’re gone [Bridge] Some days you break Some days you mend Some days you whisper To the empty end And the hurt comes back Like a wave at dawn But your love lives there And it carries on [Final Chorus] It hurts a bunch It hurts a bunch Say their name And it stings so much It hurts a bunch It hurts a bunch Love stays on Even when they’re gone

Her Smile Lives on Still

Struggling to overcome
She slipped beyond the veil
Her loss has been profound
But her smile lives on still

Brothers and sisters, six months ago as we met together in our general conference, my sweet wife, Frances, lay in the hospital, having suffered a devastating fall just a few days earlier. In May, after weeks of valiantly struggling to overcome her injuries, she slipped into eternity. Her loss has been profound. She and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 7, 1948. Tomorrow would have been our 65th wedding anniversary. She was the love of my life, my trusted confidant, and my closest friend. To say that I miss her does not begin to convey the depth of my feelings.

He's Been There Before

He's Been There Before by Elder Troy Whittle
The alarm bell rings at 6:30, I stumble to my feet
I grab my companions bedding and pull off his sheets
A groan fills the room, is it already time to arise?
It seems like just a second ago I was able to shut my eyes

The morning activities follow- study, prayer and such
When it's time to leave the apartment, you feel you haven't accomplished much
"We have a super day planned," My comp. says with a grin
I lowly utter a faithless breath, "Yeah, if anyone lets us in."

With the word of God and my faithful Schwinn, we ride off in the street prepared to
Face another day of humidity and heat
It's 9:30 in the evening, the day is almost through
My champion and I are riding home not accomplishing what we thought to do

We ride up to the mailbox, hoping to receive a lot
Only to look inside and hear my echo reverberate "air Box"
We go up to our apartment, the day is now complete
The only thing to show for our work is a case of blistery feet

It's past 10:30 p.m. My companion is fast asleep,
Silence engulfs me all about and I begin to weep
In the midst of sadness, I kneel down to pray
I need to talk to father, but I'm not sure what to say

"Oh, Father" I begin, "What happened to us today?
I thought we'd teach somebody, but everyone was away
My hands, my aching hands- worn, hurt and beat;
If our area was any smaller, we'd have knocked every street"

"Why on missions are the days so much alike?
The only difference about today was the flat tire on my bike
Will you send some cooler weather? The heat is killing me
I sweat so bad, it gets in my eyes, it's very hard to see"

"Why do I have to wear a helmet, isn't your protection enough?
People always laugh at me, and call me stupid stuff
Please send us investigators so I may give them what they lack
I want to give them Books of Mormon, the weight of them hurts my back"

"And what about my family: They don't have much to say
I'm sick of not hearing from home day after day after day
Oh Father, Why am I here am I just wasting time?
Sometimes I just want to go home, I'm sorry but that's on my mind"

"My companion, Heavenly Father, what are you giving me?
"The way he rides his bicycle, I don't think he can see
Now you have it, I can't go on, I don't know what to do
That, my Father in Heaven, is the prayer I have for you"

My prayer now finished, I stand up, then jump right into bed
I need my rest for tomorrow, we have another long day ahead
Sleep start to overtake me, I seem to drift away
Then it seems a vision takes me to another time in another day

I'm standing alone on the hill. The view is very nice
A man walks to wards me and says, "My name is Jesus Christ"
Tears of joy well up inside, I fall down to His feet
"Arise," He states, "Follow me to the shade. You and I need to speak"

My attention's towards my Savior, total and complete
He says, "Your mission is similar of what happened to me
I understand how you feel, I know what you're going through
In fact, it would be fair to say I've felt the same as you"

"I even know how you felt when no one listened to you
At times I felt not quite sure what else I could do
I know you don't like to ride a bicycle, for you a car would be sweet
Just remember the donkey I rode wasn't equipped with 21 speeds"

"I understand you don't like sweating, in fact it's something you hate
I remember when I sweat blood from ev’ry pore, oh the agony was great!
I see you don't like your companion- you'd rather have someone else-
I once had a companion named Judas who sold my life for wealth"

"It's hard to wear a helmet and have people make fun of you
I remember when they put thorns on my head and called me King of the Jews
So you feel burdened down by the weight of your pack
I recall how heavy the cross was when they slammed it on my back"

"Your hands hurt from tracting and knocking on doors all day
I guess when they pounded nails into mine, I ached in a similar way
It's hard not to hear from home when your family's not there to see
I lost communication on the cross and cried, "Father, why hast Thou forsaken me?"

"We have a lot in common, but there's a difference between us you see
I endured to the end and finished my mission, so follow and do like me"
He embraced me with His arms and His light filled me with His love
With tears in my eyes I watched as He went back to the Father above

I stood with awe and wonder when a beep rang in my head
I listened and heard the alarm, then realized I was in my bed
My companion let out a groan, "6:30 already, no way!"
I sat up and said, "Come on, I'll even carry your scriptures today!"

No matter what we go through, when we feel we can't take more
Just stop and think about Jesus Christ, He's been there before

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

These poems are my own thoughts and impressions as I study the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints

I encourage you to read from the Book of Mormon and the standard works, and listen to modern day prophets, also, that your mind and heart might be touched.
