On the dusty path to perfection
Though we know it is our Lord, that we trust
We are uncertain of the right direction
And avoid what demands too much of us
That is when we forget to give any
to those in need for work is so hard
Then, we are confronted with an enemy
Some pain, they may cause, we put up our guard
so stuck in the dust you stay
not putting the work in too grow
avoiding pain on the way
Forgetting what Christ's Light can show
Aimless, those old thoughts start to come
To entertain on the long journey
We despair at things we had done
Knowing "if only."
Then, what we could be
On the dusty path to perfection
We forget to pray about what lies ahead
We could ask others for the direction
But we focus on fears and old pains instead!
In such a quandary it is easy to give up
But, press on with a song in your heart
Again and again, the words "I'm trying to be like Jesus"
And then, you know.....you are on the right path to start

Don't beat yourself up Or anyone else Enough is enough Our Lord is our help
Every one of us was a debtor Set for imprisonment Were it not for our Deliverer, His grace, and atonement!
