Spiritual Traction
Preying on the Vulnerable
Child Pornography
So much we hide from all
The thoughts in our mind
What we do behind walls
And what we look to find
This is not really me
So, I hide it well
It's not who I want to be
And I will not tell
Until... you get caught
Now everyone knows
What in privacy you sought
Eventually shows!
20 years later!??
I am struggling in my heart and doubting my ability to recognize darkness in others, knowing someone who was arrested after I we enjoyed a relaxing July 4th. The arrest is probably for child pornography. He says that it has been going on for 20 years. I totally felt comfortable around him. I did not sense anything! Just the day before I had looked up "sex offender" because I want my grandson to be safe. There is one cattycorner. Now the next door neighbor! How big of a problem is there? There are so many in every neighborhood! Now I wonder if there is more for him to confess? What more will come out? Sigh.
I Know
I know you're dealing with much
We all get stuck at times
Trust in the Master's touch
And His path filled with signs
He Will
He will heal us. Teach us.
And stay the long night.
Open your heart and trust
You are in His sight
Grow and Be More
Grow and be more.
Reach to be your best.
Follow the Lord
And you will be blessed...
As light will manifest!
Get Your Repentance Out
Get your repentance out
Don't let it hold you down

We Are Not Made For Endings
"In light of what we know about our eternal destiny, is it any wonder that whenever we face the bitter endings of life, they seem unacceptable to us?There seems to be something inside of us that resists endings....Grateful in Any Circumstances
May we “live in thanksgiving daily”
especially during the seemingly explainable endings that are part of mortality.
May we allow our souls to expand in
thankfulness toward our merciful Heavenly Father.
May we ever and constantly raise our
voices and show by word and deed our gratitude to our Father in Heaven and to His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Ensign, May 2014
Doctrine and Covenants 78: 19 And he who receiveth all things with
Stronger
Christ makes what's weak stronger,
For strength and guidance lest one breaks.
Give Him all the praise and honor.
Have faith and in prayer- offer thanks.

Get Outside
Apr 5, 2004 · "Let's go outside and get the stink blown off us." Interesting phrase and environmentally sound. Indoor air is way more polluted than outdoor air. Today tightly sealed houses keep fresh air out and keep chemicals (like "outgassing" from wood paneling, etc.) animal dander, dust mites, etc. in.
I just bundle up in layers, add my headphones and off I go. You have to DO SOMETHING outside this winter. It feels good to breathe in the cold air; feel alive and come back home smelling like the fresh

A Slipping Mind
Some randomness you will find
When a loved one has a slipping mind
As though a child was placed in charge
When the stress had become too large
I am going through my mom's things and finding things tucked in the strangest places. One of my last memories of her was taking her shopping at a consignment store. She bought everything that the woman put in front of her. I just wanted her to be happy. But, in reality she was mostly wearing comfy pajamas and her dreams of getting dressed to go places was not in her future. Well, except for doctor appointments that seemed to come all the time and lunch afterwards... So besides clothes she bought a collection of used expensive perfumes. She would line them up and smell them like each scent was taking her away somewhere in the past.
Well, now my mom is passed and we are going through her things. I have found nail files, color pencils and pens, lipsticks, hair accessories, beads, and scissors in the most random places. She has almost 2 shoe boxes of lipsticks. It has been 6 months since she passed and I cleaned her night stand and closet. 2 of my sisters feel that Mom is slowly being erased because of this. Everyone has picked out special things to keepsake. They want me to go slow, but my dad is in his 90s and I want to enjoy him without all of stuff to go through. Enjoy photos, meals, talks, and great grandkid time. We are working in the sunroom that was my mom's art storage room. Last year it had been infested by rats! My dad's office got stacked here and there so a great grandson could live here to go to college. There are boxes everywhere and a full garage of things. Every box is full of random things...SO, I thought of this poem.

Ongoing Thoughts on Bryce Dunford (Institute instructor) on the Atonement of Christ
I paid such a high price,
In sacrifice, to gain...!
That I just can't give up!
For, that would cause me more pain!
🤔 Thinking ...Can this be something that the Savior feels about each of us?
On a Scale of 1-10.... a 10+++ Constant!
The most brilliant mind
Cannot imagine enough
The worst pain you could find!
For, in reality, it's TOUGH!
The weight, with its entirety,
Fully sinks in ...
To explain this reality,
One cannot begin!
You can read about and interview others, but you have to feel the weight of the entirety of the pain to understand the reality of it all. Then, there are no words that can describe the pain to another! Also, when the pain is over it is hard to "feel" it again. Otherwise, women would be terrified to go through labor pains again! I remember panicking, when I went into labor with my second baby because it was then that I started to remember the pain- all to familiar! And then, afterwards, as a nursing mother- you cannot forget your baby for when they are in need of nutrients, you fully respond to that cry of need. Finally, there's adoption- the loving sacrifice of giving up a child so they can be raised with all their needs met. Sigh.

Defining Pain
Pain is difficult to define
And tolerance levels vary.
How do you know who is faking?
At the passing out point, surely!
Yet, Jesus did not "lose it"
He maintain a level head
He sweat and bled from each pore
When any other would be dead
Pain can lead to fainting or passing out, a response known as vasovagal syncope. This occurs when the body reacts to extreme pain or stress, causing a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure.
Mechanism of Fainting:Nervous System Response: Intense pain triggers the autonomic nervous system, which can cause blood vessels to dilate and heart rate to slow.
Reduced Blood Flow: This reaction can lead to decreased blood flow to the brain, resulting in loss of consciousness.
www.news-medical.net › health › What-is-Hematidrosis
What is Hematidrosis? - News-Medical.net
is a condition in which capillary blood vessels that feed the sweat glands rupture, causing them to exude blood,
Possible Causes: (which of these causes triggered Jesus symptoms?)
- Infections: Certain skin infections can lead to bleeding.
- Vascular Disorders: Conditions affecting blood vessels may cause bleeding.
- Skin Trauma: Injury or irritation can result in bleeding from pores.
- Systemic Conditions: Disorders like thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) can lead to bleeding issues.

About Me
The Captain of the Soul- Invictus/ The Soul's Captain by Elder Orson F. Whitney
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance,
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
The Soul's Captain [The Answer]
by Elder Orson F. Whitney
of the Quorum of the Twelve
Art thou in truth? Then what of him
Who bought thee with his blood?
Who plunged into devouring seas
And snatched thee from the flood?
Who bore for all our fallen race
What none but him could bear.
The God who died that man might live,
And endless glory share?
Of what avail thy vaunted strength,
Apart from his vast might?
Pray that his Light may pierce the gloom,
That thou mayest see aright.
Men are as bubbles on the wave,
As leaves upon the tree.
Thou, captain of thy soul, forsooth
Who gave that place to thee?
Free will is thine — free agency
To wield for right or wrong;
But thou must answer unto him
To whom all souls belong.
Bend to the dust that head "unbowed,"
Small part of Life's great whole!
And see in him, and him alone,
The Captain of thy soul
He's Been There Before
The alarm bell rings at 6:30, I stumble to my feet
I grab my companions bedding and pull off his sheets
A groan fills the room, is it already time to arise?
It seems like just a second ago I was able to shut my eyes
The morning activities follow- study, prayer and such
When it's time to leave the apartment, you feel you haven't accomplished much
"We have a super day planned," My comp. says with a grin
I lowly utter a faithless breath, "Yeah, if anyone lets us in."
With the word of God and my faithful Schwinn, we ride off in the street prepared to
Face another day of humidity and heat
It's 9:30 in the evening, the day is almost through
My champion and I are riding home not accomplishing what we thought to do
We ride up to the mailbox, hoping to receive a lot
Only to look inside and hear my echo reverberate "air Box"
We go up to our apartment, the day is now complete
The only thing to show for our work is a case of blistery feet
It's past 10:30 p.m. My companion is fast asleep,
Silence engulfs me all about and I begin to weep
In the midst of sadness, I kneel down to pray
I need to talk to father, but I'm not sure what to say
"Oh, Father" I begin, "What happened to us today?
I thought we'd teach somebody, but everyone was away
My hands, my aching hands- worn, hurt and beat;
If our area was any smaller, we'd have knocked every street"
"Why on missions are the days so much alike?
The only difference about today was the flat tire on my bike
Will you send some cooler weather? The heat is killing me
I sweat so bad, it gets in my eyes, it's very hard to see"
"Why do I have to wear a helmet, isn't your protection enough?
People always laugh at me, and call me stupid stuff
Please send us investigators so I may give them what they lack
I want to give them Books of Mormon, the weight of them hurts my back"
"And what about my family: They don't have much to say
I'm sick of not hearing from home day after day after day
Oh Father, Why am I here am I just wasting time?
Sometimes I just want to go home, I'm sorry but that's on my mind"
"My companion, Heavenly Father, what are you giving me?
"The way he rides his bicycle, I don't think he can see
Now you have it, I can't go on, I don't know what to do
That, my Father in Heaven, is the prayer I have for you"
My prayer now finished, I stand up, then jump right into bed
I need my rest for tomorrow, we have another long day ahead
Sleep start to overtake me, I seem to drift away
Then it seems a vision takes me to another time in another day
I'm standing alone on the hill. The view is very nice
A man walks to wards me and says, "My name is Jesus Christ"
Tears of joy well up inside, I fall down to His feet
"Arise," He states, "Follow me to the shade. You and I need to speak"
My attention's towards my Savior, total and complete
He says, "Your mission is similar of what happened to me
I understand how you feel, I know what you're going through
In fact, it would be fair to say I've felt the same as you"
"I even know how you felt when no one listened to you
At times I felt not quite sure what else I could do
I know you don't like to ride a bicycle, for you a car would be sweet
Just remember the donkey I rode wasn't equipped with 21 speeds"
"I understand you don't like sweating, in fact it's something you hate
I remember when I sweat blood from ev’ry pore, oh the agony was great!
I see you don't like your companion- you'd rather have someone else-
I once had a companion named Judas who sold my life for wealth"
"It's hard to wear a helmet and have people make fun of you
I remember when they put thorns on my head and called me King of the Jews
So you feel burdened down by the weight of your pack
I recall how heavy the cross was when they slammed it on my back"
"Your hands hurt from tracting and knocking on doors all day
I guess when they pounded nails into mine, I ached in a similar way
It's hard not to hear from home when your family's not there to see
I lost communication on the cross and cried, "Father, why hast Thou forsaken me?"
"We have a lot in common, but there's a difference between us you see
I endured to the end and finished my mission, so follow and do like me"
He embraced me with His arms and His light filled me with His love
With tears in my eyes I watched as He went back to the Father above
I stood with awe and wonder when a beep rang in my head
I listened and heard the alarm, then realized I was in my bed
My companion let out a groan, "6:30 already, no way!"
I sat up and said, "Come on, I'll even carry your scriptures today!"
No matter what we go through, when we feel we can't take more
Just stop and think about Jesus Christ, He's been there before
