A Moment of Meditation

A moment of meditation
Can give rise to a timeless thought
That breaks through our hesitation
To take a rest when we're distraught

Though schedules and duties beckon on
Our minds demand for breaks to ponder
We find our destinies beacon out strong
When we allow our minds to dream... yet not wander

Perhaps the best thing is to start with memories
And remember the precious moments of life
The times when we were close as familes
And united together to endure a strife

How grateful we should be for our lives on earth
And that we can live as families while we're here
How precious is that moment of an infant birth
And how speechless is the love that is found there

How far in our past can we trust we remember?
For when I look at pictures, I long for more to see
I feel there's a veil and we've a past that's in slumber
As I look into a child's eyes something awakens in me

Why are we here? When we die, is there more?
These thought come when I pause and let out steam
Life is more than obtaining and mundane chore
It's about holding to memories and living to dream
