This was inspired from thinking of two living apostles visiting the holy lands and reading the four gospels while at the tomb garden. Elder Cook and Elder Holland who coincidentally were missionary companions in their youth. They were there with their wives.
Their young missionary selves had no idea that they would be standing again together as apostles, with their wives at the holy lands reading....
Through the four gospels
Read of His last days
From the view of His apostles
See the excitement
As He entered on the donkey
Hear the confusion
As He turned over Caesar's money
Feel how dirty were their feet
As the Lord took each to clean
Of His body they were to eat
Of His blood they were to drink
Feel how solemn the hymn
They sang after the meal
As they walked along with Him
What He'd said became more real
How heavy was each heart
In truth, they were worn out
Jesus asked of them their part
To pray and watch about
Jesus went off aways
To pray all by Himself
The minutes seemed as days
They dozed, they could not help themselves
The next thing they knew
They heard Jesus say wake up
Could you not watch one hour
Again they tried. But it proved too much
The sounds of Him moaning...
Too, they slept through that!
Again, then awaking
A group led by Judas
Whom they loved, but now hated
As he gave the betrayal kiss
Soon, afraid, all the disciples fled
As men arrested a subdued Jesus
