Grace Extended

Trying to do too much

I end up dropping something

Or even giving up

Thinking that sleep is a blessing

We cannot make time stand still

Or add more daylight. Where is there help?

We need to surrender, to God's will

When we cannot manage by ourselves

Thinking with an eternal perspective

We can focus on what's of greatest value

Our prayers and scripture study give

Us strength and wisdom anew

Because of Christ's merits, mercy and grace

We know the covenant path to take

He is the Way, the Truth, the Life as we face

Decisions daily to make

The Lord our God is Almighty

He will save us from our frailties

Because He atoned He knows completely

His grace can extend us in abilities

[Verse] I try to do too much Then drop the ball I give up Think sleep will fix it all [Prechorus] Time keeps ticking No more daylight [Chorus] I need grace extended When I cannot cope I need grace extended More than I know [Verse 2] I need God's help Surrender my own will I need perspective Focus on what is real [Prechorus] Prayers give me strength Scripture gives me sight [Chorus] I need grace extended When I cannot cope I need grace extended More than I know

Because of Jesus Christ

In our lives, we need to deal not just with blue and yellow concerns but also with red and green, orange and purple, polka dots and stripes, and every possible combination. We may feel like Lady—overwhelmed and discouraged—and just want to crawl back into bed.

I cannot add more time to your days or eliminate the many concerns modern life brings. But I can offer this counsel: Not all matters are of equal value, and maintaining an eternal perspective helps us prioritize the things that are of greatest value. On

Enduring to the end is linked inextricably to the spiritual gift of charity. Enduring to the end is not merely a relentless determination to grit our teeth, hold on to the limits of our physical strength and mental capacity, and push through the challenges and adversities of mortal life; it is so much more than that. Enduring to the end is the joyous quest of a lifetime—a pressing forward with faith in Jesus Christ in a gradual process of trusting in and receiving help from our Savior to become more like Him. As our love for Him grows ever stronger and deeper, we can be blessed to receive spiritual perspective, the Lord’s empowering grace, and exceedingly great and indescribable joy.
