Practice Looking Up

The morning sun wakes you

To a bright new day

Offering hope anew

Reminding always

Jesus is the Light

Leading you through life

Again and again out of the night

With each busy new day

Before all else, pray

Practice looking up

With faith hope and trust

Jesus is the Light

Leading you through life

Again and again out of the night

In your heart

In your thoughts

In your actions

Do your part

Life gets fraught

With distractions

There’s no dismissing

As the sun sets to night

Something is missing

Repentance is in sight

Jesus is the Light

Leading you through life

Again and again out of the night

Joyfully repent

Again and again

Though darkness descends

The light is your friend

Jesus is the Light

Leading you through life

Again and again out of the night

From the moment we wake up to the rising sun, everything around us is a reminder of Jesus Christ’s light ☀️

Elder Kearon encouraged all to view life through an eternal lens, reminding them that present challenges are only a small part of a much longer journey toward eternal life. He taught that we are on earth to learn, grow and be changed through the process. He said while many things remain beyond our ability to fix, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ can heal and restore all things. He encouraged his audiences to trust in Christ’s power, place their burdens in His hands, let go of old habits and allow themselves to become new through Him.

“If I had a message for my friends in Asia, for the members of the Church in Asia,” Elder Kearon taught, “it is to remember that you're a daughter of God, that you're a son of God… Remind ourselves of this in our busy lives, and practice turning to Jesus Christ every day – in our thoughts, in our hearts, and in our actions. You'll make mistakes. Remember that you can joyfully repent every day, and you can start again every day, and you can have a much better day tomorrow, if you'll practice and remember who you are and turn to your Savior, Jesus Christ.”
