Parables of Jesus: The Prodigal Son

Deceived, thoughtlessly selfishly I sought the "fun" life
And drained every resource I could.
I grieved. The more I tried, the more nothing would go right!
The path I was on was not good!
I started to remember my parents who seemed to "have it all"
And, how kind they were to those in need!
When had I last thought good things about them? I could not recall
But smiled at their eager hands to feed!
One plate of food from them...a bath... would they turn me away?
How great was the damage I'd cost!
In rags, I sighed. I knocked. I'll aways remember this day
They held me like a treasure, they'd lost!
