I Live in Thanksgiving

I live in Thanksgiving
Every time I pray.
For the life I am living
I give thanks each day.

This Day Is Passing Swiftly

This day is passing swiftly
Each day but fading quickly
One day to truly understand
That God's plan of happiness is grand

The Tears of Regret

The tears of regret
Can be wiped dry
If we but repent
We're cleansed through Christ

Truly Learn to Live

Truly learn to live
Every single day
Thankful Christ did give
Us the sacred way

The Sting of Death

The sting of death
Is swallowed up in Christ
He paid the debt
Of our imperfect lives

See Look With Your Heart

What we see with the eye
Does but magnify
What is negative
In the way we live

Look with your heart
And truly see.
Let light impart
Spiritually

Unavoidably

Unavoidably
One day each must step
Past mortality
And the life once kept

There Exists a Girl

There exists a girl
With a golden curl
Which she likes to twirl
And her name is Pearl

A boy stood near, transfixed
He reached out with his fist
To grab her curl betwixt
But of course, he missed

Silly poem I don't know why I wrote it.

Make the Brain Bright

Make the brain bright
With channels deep
With knowledge wide
To share and keep

Aside

Aside the demands
Of the day to day
Fellow Americans
For what did you pray?

What Kind of Friend Are You Finding?

What kind of grave are you finding?
By the friends you hang around
From God there is no hiding
And we all end up in the ground

He Accepts Me as I Am

He accepts me as I am
And doesn't expect perfection
He shepherds me as a lamb
And I never know rejection

The Respectful Student

I focus at school
Quietly, in my seat
I am respectful
I wait my turn to speak

Words are Cheap

Words are cheap
Records are real
Never cheat
Be the real deal

Thank you Mitt Romney for the inspiration.
Hope you are enjoying family time!

Resolve to Spend More Time

Resolve to spend more time
With your family
Determined there to find
Christ's love, happily

Look with Your Heart

Look with your heart
At what the day brings
Truths do impart
Give thanks in all things

Jesus Journey Bound

Jesus, journey bound
Lived purposely each day
Loved all those He found
And lightened their way

Heavenly Blessings

Heavenly blessings
Come to our lives
As we're listening
The Spirit thrives

When We Depart

When we depart
Our bodies stay
A new life starts
We pass away

Back to our home
With God above
Where we are known
And feel His love

The Years Pass

The years pass
And then they're gone
What does last?
But our life's song

The chorus
Shares what we did
Our focus
For which we bid

The harmony
Is in each step
Life's melody
Is daily kept

The years pass
And quickly fade
Make them last
Heavenly played

Of Regrets and Resolutions

A nurse of the terminally ill
Found common storms of regret
Flooding patients of what they would to fulfill...
If a miracle would just let

If I could turn back the clouds of time
And erase my greatest regrets
Skies of potential I would climb
Happily, with love as my jets

A nurse who cares for the terminally ill says that she has often asked a simple question of her patients as they prepared to depart this life.
“Do you have any regrets?” she would ask.2Being so close to that final day of mortality often gives clarity to thought and provides insight and perspective. So when these people were asked about their regrets, they opened their hearts. They reflected about what they would change if only they could turn back the clock.
As I considered what they had said, it struck me how the foundational principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ can affect our life’s direction for good, if only we will apply them.
There is nothing mysterious about the principles of the gospel. We have studied them in the scriptures, we have discussed them in Sunday School, and we have heard them from the pulpit many times. These divine principles and values are straightforward and clear; they are beautiful, profound, and powerful; and they can definitely help us to avoid future regrets.

I Wish I Had Spent More Time with the People I Love

I Wish I Had Lived Up to My Potential

I Wish I Had Let Myself Be Happier

Unto All the World - Mahmud's Story

Why not start at the beginning
And see what life is all about
Then feel the veil start thinning
As faith overcomes doubt

Through prayer's invitation
There's a swelling in the heart
A rush of sensation
For a Christ filled life to start

As Siblings of Our Lord

As divine siblings of our Lord
We are capable of so much more
He has shown us how we are to be
Part of an eternal family

Good intentions are not enough
For it's greatness we are made of
We've each roles with things to do
And our Lord will help us through

"As sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, we are capable of so much more. For that, good intentions are not enough. We must do. Even more important, we must become what Heavenly Father wants us to be."

For God So Loved the World

His life flashes before me
His works reach forth anew
He restores my sight, to see
His pure love does renew

He prayed continually
As all our pains pressed on Him
Steadfast, committedly
Still, naught a bit did soften

Ridicule, betrayal,
Mockery, abandonment
Torture that became fatal
Elements of the atonement

He asks that we forgive
And turn the other cheek
Like Him we are to live
He humble, kind, and meek

Trust in the Lord by Anonymous

The wind's not always at our back,
The sky is not always blue.
Sometimes we crave the things we lack,
And don't know what to do.

Sometimes life's an uphill ride,
With mountains we must climb.
At times the river's deep and wide,
And crossing takes some time.

No one said that life is easy,
There are no guarantees.
So Trust in the Lord continually,
On calm or stormy seas.

The challenges we face today,
Prepares us for tomorrow.
For faith takes our fears away,
And peace replaces sorrow.

This poem is so good!
I wonder who wrote it?

Satan will Never Try

Satan will never try
To initiate peace
But will tempt us to shy
From where it will increase

He cannot imitate
The peace that we feel
Nor will he initiate
Repentance to heal

You Can Grow a Smarter Brain

You can grow a smarter brain
And nurture what you've got
Through the Holy Ghost to gain
Further light to be taught

On Task

You plead and you ask
That each thought be on task
To instill in the end
A desire to win

Storing Knowledge

Like putting things in drawers
You can store much in your brain
To get those higher scores,
Ace a test, and get that grade

You are Your Family's Treasure

You are your family's treasure
More valuable than gold
And it has been my pleasure
To watch your growth unfold

Thoughts on what it is like to work with children and to realize each are their parent's treasure.

Effort

Your body tells me
When you've caught what I have taught
Your eyes start shining
As though you've grabbed what you have sought

What will you remember?
Save that learning is fun
And that it is through endeavor
That knowledge is won

Whether I win or not
I have made up my mind
Sportsmanship must be taught

Positively
Grace is won

I Close My Eyes and Soar By Rick Miller

I close my eyes and fall asleep
And find that I can fly
Leaving earthly bonds behind
I soar into the sky

Winging free into the blue
I visit foreign lands
High above vast fields of green
And over desert sands

The wonders of the earth are mine
While drifting through the air
No fence can interrupt my flight
I fly to everywhere

Until, at last, the daybreak nears
And I float back to the Earth
Returning to my human form-
The one I got at birth

But I shall fly again tonight
When I fall asleep once more
Reclaim my wings in sheer delight
And with the eagles soar

My husband wrote this!

He Walks With Us

He loves us, oh so much
He walks with us in pain,
Provides His healing touch,
As faith and hope we gain

He takes our hands that hang
As we seek for Him in prayer
He warms our heart to change
And feel His tender care

He, up on the narrow path
Knows our fallen pleas in the pit
The dark place where we are at
And inspires us despite this

He helps us grow and learn
How to make better choices
It is oh so good to discern
He knows our hearts our voices

LDS Video: Special Witnesses of Christ

At what point do you cry
When you ponder on the Lord?
Apostles testify
As to Him they point toward

At what point do you cry
As you ponder on the Lord?
When do testify?
How do you pay Him forward?

Look to All You Can

We look to all we can
To lead our country forward
To inspire our children and
Give us goals to work toward

"And we citizens also have to rise to the occasion. We look to our teachers and professors, we count on you not just to teach, but to inspire our children with a passion for learning and discovery.
We look to our pastors and priests and rabbis and counselors of all kinds to testify of the enduring principles upon which our society is built: honesty, charity, integrity and family.
We look to our parents, for in the final analysis everything depends on the success of our homes.
We look to job creators of all kinds. We're counting on you to invest, to hire, to step forward."   Mitt Romney

I Believe in America

I believe in America.
In the goodness of its people
And pray for a miracle
For without God we are feeble

As our leaders reach far out
To solve our nation's needs
May there be more prayers about
For, that is when goodness leads

A Different Face

My heart smiles
With a different face
As life piles
Christ's light I embrace

The Constitution Lays in Shreds

The Constitution lays in shreds

With one hand, we work hard to hold it up

In fellowship our other hand extends

For help, for alone we are not enough

Keep all that is good and true
Then ask if there is more
The missionaries can help you
They are servants of the Lord

"We encourage you to keep all that is good and true and then see if we can add more. In this world filled with challenges, we do need help from time to time. Religion, eternal truth, and our missionaries are vital parts of that help."

The Last Thing That I Want

The last thing that I want
Is to tell you what to do
But I think I should acknowledge
What I feel, and speak to you

The changes that we see
The uneasiness we feel
Are things that shouldn't be
Let us talk and let love heal

GCBC Week 2: “Can Ye Feel So Now?” By Elder Quentin L. Cook ...

Oct 14, 2012 – How do you think Elder Cook's counsel can be helpful to you and your family? ... 16 Responses to GCBC Week 2: “Can Ye Feel So Now... Lack of commitment and apathy are huge attitudes I see in lots of acquaintances and .

The church has a great parenting class.  We are having lessons from it at a stake level.  We have been practicing voicing concerns by attacking frustrations and not the person.  It is a plea for help and not an attack on the child. Trying to take it to the next level.  How does the Savior feel when we go against what he has taught? He still sees the beauty in each of us and what we can become. He offers hope. How would He want us to parent? We have to stay gentle, inviting, being an example and not being acted upon while being firm to our expectations.

The Heart Starts to Pound

The heart starts to pound
Fully alive again
The Spirit is found
Born of Christ our true friend

No longer half hearted
I seek for but the best
The darkening has parted
I see I have been blessed

I feel now to sing
The song of redeeming love
The Spirit does bring
That bond to God above

I want more than anything
To have Him always in my heart
Humbly, I am offering
Full commitment to do my part

Home is

Home is but a happy place
Filled with love and support
Family is there to embrace
For hope, joy, and comfort

Home is but a training ground
For where we'll be in heaven
Where with loved ones we can be bound
By Heavenly Father even

Commitment and Repentance

Commitment and repentance
Are closely intertwined
When we become repentant
Who we truly are becomes defined
"When our commitment is diminished for any reason, part of the solution is repentance. Commitment and repentance are closely intertwined."

Love I Cannot Live Without

Open my eyes that I might see
The lessons to be taught by history
Open my ears that I might hear
What I should hold close, ever so near

Open my mouth. Help me to say
What for others will brighten the way
Open my hands that gifts flow much
To those who have need of a gentle touch

Open my heart, my mind, my soul
Help me to share of my divine role
All, that Thy light more circles about
For Thy love I cannot live without
