Before You Go Into a Room

Before you go into a room
Or cross a line unknown
Never blankly just assume
All is as it is shown

In an unfamiliar place
Before you enter in
Seek the spirit, just in case
It is dangerous within

Though a promise has been made
For entertaining fun
The lines of sin do not fade
No, not a single one

The shades of gray hide shadows
Where luring traps subtly await
Each call for laughter allows
For off color jokes that aren't so great

A long time ago I stopped watching shows with canned laughter.  It just bugs me.  I feel like someone is trying to tell me when to laugh.  I was also pondering Elder Holland's CES devotional
