The point of happiness and goodness
Lies upon our thoughts of gratitude
This sweet quality is born of meekness
Founded upon a peaceful attitude

Sadly, we've undermined this quality today
Creating entitlements for an expectant way
The more you feel that life or others owe you
Ungratefully, you compare and badly lash out too

There is a terrible price government will one day pay
For having created dependent people who search for prey
Unproductive and unhappy...entitlement is their excuse
To steal, lie, cheat, and even do that which does abuse

Before we create assistance through a social policy
Let's debate what it entitles... lest the aid's a fallacy
Let's pursue happiness with a key of opportunity
That unlocks talents to improve a "we" community
