Two Antidotes for Anxiety- Work and Knowledge

Work is an antidote for anxiety,
A healing ointment for sorrow,
A doorway to possibility,
And a strength for others to borrow

Let us set our bodies and minds
Unto glorious excellence
There to roll up our sleeves and find
Hard labor does make a difference

If we constantly put our goals off
We will never see them fulfilled
Don't let time and foolishness rob
You of what endurance instills

And then at times with much to face
Through a love of learning we will witness
Knowledge does away with darkness
As it becomes a light to embrace

Too, let us seek for all that is virtuous,
Lovely, praiseworthy, or of good report
For the added light it brings to us
To drink deeply from the fountains of the Lord

Two Principles for Any Economy
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Ensign, November 2009, 55

'Whatever principle of intelligence we attain in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. D&C 130: 18-19

The Prophet Joseph taught, " Knowledge does away with darkness, (anxiety), and doubt; for these cannot exist where knowledge is." '
