He Saw Calamities Pour

He saw calamities pour
Then feeling quite depressed
Enoch asked of the Lord
When shall the earth then rest?

Brigham, too, saw a day
When Elders shall be called home
As nations and states fall away
With destruction the harshest known

In mercy, the lord forewarns
Again, again, and again
That soon will come the storms
Ever mighty to descend

Imagine how the prophet Noah felt
While building the immense arc
Midst hardened hearts that would not melt
How they mocked him as he docked to embark

Can preparedness be called temporal
When it comes by way of command?
Holy writ states all things are spiritual
As to not be "acted upon" we take a stand

Because the day is long
Who will now delay?
If we're to be found strong
We must obtain supplies and wait

Let each man pray how best to obey
For God will protect those who heed His voice
That we've not been warned, no man can say
And promised blessings are forever choice

We've been invited to prepare
In every needful thing
If we do we shall not fear
What peace and comfort this does bring
