Even Though Zeezrom Repented

Even though Zeezrom repented
The blindness he had caused went on
Thus, Alma and Amulek were arrested
Though they had done nothing wrong

Witnesses testified against them
Angry at what they had heard
Truly offended by all they said
For the plainness of their words

Then...they brought the wives and children
Any who professed to believe
And cast them into a fire
To make Alma and Amulek grieve

This being too much to withstand
Seeing all this before their eyes pained!
Amulek would Alma stretch forth his hand
And save each one from the flames

The spirit constrained... he could not budge
For the Lord would to receive them up
In Glory, that in wrath he might judge
For the shedding of innocent blood

Amidst fire, the wicked mocked of hell
Spit words and smote upon both their cheeks
As too they gnashed their teeth and put them in jail
Trying anything to get them to speak

For many days, how these two men suffered
Stripped of their clothes and confined
To them no food or water was offered
As leaders, lawyers, and judges combined

Then the judge said... he'd believeth
If... God's power would free the bands
Each smote...with the same words repeated
Then... Alma gave forth the command!

With faith...from the bands, they became free
The earth shook and broke the door and the walls
The people in fear had no where to flee
And were slain from all that did fall

Thus, through their own wicked instruction
All those who scoffed and mocked were now dead
Through the power of God came destruction
And those that came to see...in fear screamed and fled

Alma 14
