I have Heard What Hath Been Said

I have learned what hath been said
And written of long ago
In truth, I was seeking to be fed
That for myself I could know

I read of the Lord's commandments
And of His blessing those around
Then of the gift of the Atonement
The greatest love ever to be found

The words spoke softly to my soul
With tender mercy and compassion
And I pondered- what is my role?
That I might serve with love impassioned

And as His words ever live
I was filled with the answer
Be as a child who does give...
Then to the Lord, my will did transfer
