All Things Denote

All things denote
There is a God
From the mighty oak
To the damp new sod

The senses fill
Unto delight
When a storm grown still
Yields a rainbow bright

The fresh new air
Rustles the leaves
While the birds up there
Sing upon the breeze

Let our cares pause
To give God praise
As natural laws
Send the rainbow rays

Alma 30: 44
But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of all these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.

My neighbor and I had dinner together. She ever reminds me how precious it is to have a husband ( even if he is so far away). She is a recent widow after 64 years and says she never thought she would be left alone. She was talking about how God to her husband was nature and how much he loved to garden and plant flowers. We went outside and the weather had changed completely. It had just started to rain and there was a beautiful rainbow. What a treasure. It is wonderful to have a friend to share such a moment. We enjoyed watching people come out of the restaurant and see their surprise, too. San Jose needs the rain!
