So a young mother can be more at home
Her husband earned the wages all alone
As, too, he took time to treat her like a queen
With long walks there to dream on dates that were lean

And traveling with them were all the children
Given freedom to explore the countryside
With wide open space much does thrill them
Where the security of childhood was not denied

But sooner or later the children grow tired
With want for attention and comfort
As both of their parents are desired
For affection, rest, and resort
