In the Thick Tall Brush

In the thick tall brush
Blew the mighty wind
And the sound did hush
Each cry he would send

Yet, the lone bird still
Raised his head to tweet
For his mom to trill
And land at his feet

To rest, he looked down
And the air grew silent
As he saw what was brown
A bug- juicy and giant

T'was his first meal of labor
Now he'd passed the test
For in a bush that neighbored
Was the mother redbreast...

The earth will provide
Simple lessons we need
Each will be a guide
If our eyes set to see

All the earth is ours
For toil and learning too
God knows the minutes and hours
And will teach us what to do
