He Loves Us More Than That

Our Savior, perfect in every way
Loves us more than we can know
He lights upon our minds each day
Even when love for Him does not show...

Of the boss for whom we labor
To whom our obedience is exact
Who compensates each endeavor
He loves us by far more than that

Of the spouse for whom we offer
Commitment, loyalty and love intact
Who bears with us when e'er we suffer
He loves us by far more than that

Of the small child for whom we worry
And seek to teach and make an impact
Who, for safety, obeys in a hurry
He loves us by far more than that

Each relationship with which we enter
Forms a bond as though a contract
Yet, fails to complete us as our center
For Christ loves us more perfectly than that

He is who gives us breath and wisdom
Knows who we are and who we can be
And we can ever put our trust in Him
For He leads man on love's path of eternity
