Here We Come

Here we come to judge ourselves
Of our own worthiness.
In remembrance, we have come
To feel light within us

Here we come to eat the bread
With our hearts humbly found.
With our Lord we have come to rest
As our sins we've laid down

May we offer our clean hands
And too our pure hearts.
And shed off the natural man
For what peace imparts.

Here we come where, humbly I
Will eat of His bread
His body crucified
That I be cleansed and fed

Here we come to gently sup
And to drink anew.
As we ponder what was shed
For all of man, too.

We take His name upon us
Keeping covenants that last.
He to search us and prove us-
Are we found steadfast?

As on the Sabbath Day
For much we do pray
For a measure of the Lord
We obey, hungry for more

May we prepare for the great Day
For His final supper
This the Great and Dreadful Day
The prayers, He will offer

July 24
A cleaned up version of the poem below:
Here we bow to judge ourselves of our worthiness on Thy sabbath day
In remembrance we have come seeking happiness for which we do pray
Here we come to eat the bread and to drink the cup with hearts humbly found
As Christ's body was laid down, then to Thee raised up, our sins we'll lay down
That we may with clean hands make offer and with Him gently sup

We want to have Thy spirit in a large measure and feel close to Thee
Oh, search us now and prove us, we want to be pure and walk steadfastly
We remember the suff'ring and bleeding Savior who endured for us
As we partake of His supper, may we feel His peace, thus
And prepare for His new supper - for when He does appear!
