May I Speak With a New Tongue

May I speak with a new tongue?
As one who's been baptized,
And received the Holy Ghost
Which guides with words of Christ.

May I speak as though an angel?
Softly... with the Holy Ghost.
Which utters what I should do
To perform and receive the most.

May I reach out unto you,
With thoughts which I treasure?
For, from the spirit they then grew
To testify and assure...

Then.. may you listen
To the plainness of the Word
Given of Him now risen
Awaiting to be heard

There to grow and not be faint
Performing in the name of Christ
As through prayer you consecrate
Continually day and night
