What? Never Walking Alone

What would Thou have me see?

Where would Thou have me go?

Ever in search of light

That, in truth, I might grow

---------------------------

To travel a great length

And sail against a storm?

To receive words of strength

From apostles of the Lord?

To hear God's words of hope

What sacrifice would you make?

For a forever home

What would you forgo and forsake?

To leave the safety of land

And take your children too

With trust in the Savior's hand

An urgency within grew

The storm whipped mightier

And we all became sick

The winds and rain fought us

Battered, we became weak

Our child died, we pressed on

More desperate now to hear

What we knew came from God

Light shone, above, the sky was clear!

The words were just for us

He knew our hearts desire

To preach with greater trust

To reach souls and inspire

An apostolic blessing

We knew our purpose, more

We knew we'd do great things

And weather any storm

We'd share words from the Lord

[Verse 1] What would Thou have me see? Where would Thou have me go? Ever in search of light, That, in truth, I might grow. [Verse 2] To travel a great length, And sail against a storm? To receive words of strength From apostles of the Lord? [Pre-Chorus] To hear God's words of hope, What sacrifice would you make? For a forever home, What would you forgo and forsake? [Chorus] We followed where Thou led us, Though the waters rose and turned; We held fast to the promise, Through the ache and all we learned. When the clouds gave way to morning, And the open heavens shone, We heard the words meant for us: We were never walking alone. [Verse 3] We left the safety of land And took our children too, With trust in the Savior's hand, An urgency within grew. [Verse 4] The storm whipped mightier, And we all became sick; The winds and rain fought us, Battered, we became weak. [Bridge] Our child died; we pressed on, More desperate now to hear What we knew came from God— Light shone; above, the sky was clear. [Verse 5] The words were just for us; He knew our hearts' desire: To preach with greater trust, To reach souls and inspire. [Chorus] We followed where Thou led us, Though the waters rose and turned; We held fast to the promise, Through the ache and all we learned. When the clouds gave way to morning, And the open heavens shone, We heard the words meant for us: We were never walking alone. [Outro] An apostolic blessing— We knew our purpose more. We knew we'd do great things, And weather any storm. We'd share words from the Lord.
