Tree Already There

The goal is not to join the church

Or wanting you to believe something

For then you would miss the point

It is not just about the joining

The Book of Mormon starts with a family

And their struggle on a journey far

For not all of them share the father's vision

And there is contention from the start

Some sons do the least that is asked

Their heart is not okay with this change

But, one son knew how to correct this path

He prayed and gained for himself faith

He, too saw what his father saw

A tree bearing the purest white fruit

Of the love found there was God

Offering us His Son, in truth

The book is about connections

Of turning your heart to Christ

And partaking of the love shared

 By covenant making in life

The tree is already there

It is up to us to reach for it

And to be willing to share

Knowing how YOU are better for it
