The Trumpet Sings

Midst the spires

Pointing upwards

The trumpet sings

Moroni heralds

Flying in our midst

The gospel is here

Come be filled with promise

Come be of good cheer

See atop the temple

The angel trumps

Hear Him blasting

Last days... Saints, look up!

Jesus is coming

His great day nears

Come see and listen

It's time. Repent!

Renew your covenants.

For at-one-meant, love

Come to the temple

The House of the Lord beacons

Glad tidings

He will return

There's much to do

For growth, to learn

This was inspired by a discussion in x.com about symbols and others misunderstanding why we have an angel on our temples.

The angel Moroni on Latter-day Saint temples does not replace Jesus Christ. He symbolizes the Restoration of the gospel and the angelic proclamation spoken of in Revelation 14:6: “I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach.” That is why he is often shown with a trumpet: not as an object of worship, but as a messenger pointing people to Jesus Christ.
