Christ does not convince the mind
He converts the heart
The treasures of the gospel light
And this is just the start
Connecting truths line upon line
And some evidence confirms
Gathering truth and light
Oh, how the bosom burns
The walls came down in Jericho
By obedience and faith
all to witness the power of God
And that patience is a strength
Two brothers, Layman and Lemuel
Saw an angel face to face
But the were disobedient
They'd not faith to embrace
Seeing isn't believing
Some evidence is clear
Winds come, deceiving
And those convinced disappear
God in His mercy and His grace
Allows to find our way
The gospel light to embrace
Comes as we seek and pray
Willing to submit to all things
Ever and always it takes faith
Then comes the brightest blessings

I think someone can become more dependent on evidence for the Book of Mormon and then, as a result, spend less time in the Book of Mormon. But the Lord doesn’t want us convinced. He asks us to choose to be converted. Evidence convinces. The text converts.
