Hold to the Rod

[Verse 1] When the rain comes down from a darkened sky, I like the company I won't deny. With the pitter-patter on my roof, And a chill that's seeped in as my proof, I'm inside till the storm passes I put on my reading glasses. [Chorus] Those alone can hold to the rod. Those alone can hold to the rod. I take out the word of God. Those alone can hold to the rod. [Verse 2] When the rain clears, there is a star filled night. I am in awe of the Heavenly sight. With a deepen inhale I say a prayer. As I smell the freshness of clean air. The long night has passed so slowly, It's mine to enjoy wholly. [Chorus] Those alone can hold to the rod. Those alone can hold to the rod. I read words from men of God. Those alone can hold to the rod. [Verse 3] When the sun then rises on a new day, There's much on my mind to think and pray. I think of all the long years granted. And someday I will be transplanted. My home has deep roots, memories. I'm at home with antiquities. [Bridge] I will write how I'm taught of God. I will write how I'm taught of God. The road is long, the truth is broad. Those alone can hold to the rod. [Chorus] Those alone can hold to the rod. Those alone can hold to the rod. I will write how I'm taught of God. Those alone can hold to the rod.
