The Risen Christ Our Conqueror

Nearly 2,000 years ago

In the dark, some women arose Their lamps could not dispel the gloom As they made their way to the tomb Their depth of grief we’ll never know How helpless and hopeless they felt now As their steps were heavy and slow “How could this happen?” each asked, “How?” He had cast out demons by legions And cured the lepers with lesions He raised the dead and healed the sick The crippled walked cleansed from sins How could He let this happen to Him? How could He die and abandon them? Their thoughts were so dark, so miserable They didn’t expect a miracle They came out of love and reverence Hoping some how to make a difference They came because He’d been their source of light But, the stone was rolled away in the night! There, two men in dazzling apparel to them said Why do you seek the living among the dead? They learned, He is not confined to a grave of stone But is risen to heal, give comfort and to atone Jesus conquered the Fall, all alone He can conquer anything, everything All the trials man will ever know He is, our Savior for all eternity Go, even run and spread this glorious news: “The gospel of the Lord is yours if you so choose!” "He is the Way the Truth and the Life," as He says Go and be His message, in faith, all your days Show He is our Conqueror, ever and always
