Dusty Road to Emmaus

On the dusty road to Emmaus

We feel lost without the Lord, alone

And, such sadness overcomes us

Having lost the greatest love ever known

Mourning that you’ve lost your best friend

That by no one you are seen, at all

Who do you turn to in the end?

When only Jesus can answer that call?

On the dusty road to Emmaus

We feel but the cords of death, within

We feel that  no good will come of us

Then… we seek to renew love’s company

Then looking back, on this road all along

The Savior was there walking by our side!

Listening to our long sorrowing song!

Waiting. For that change of heart that can’t be denied!

Oh the questions, as we struggle to learn!

But, Jesus’,  walks with us is felt as we with Him abide

Let Him talk to you that your heart might burn

The lonely, misunderstood, burdened, no one is denied

Take upon you His name, the name of Jesus Christ

For joy, is His answer, “I am the way, the truth, the life!”

Ever He promises, “I am the way, the truth, the life!”

“When we have a question, problem, or joy, Jesus Christ says, I am your answer—your way, your truth, your life.”  — Elder Gerrit W. Gong (@GerritWGong)  #GeneralConference
