Ever More Bright

Tall walls of hatred, divide us
And civility's no more
Each home is in need of healing
Revived by our dear Lord

Midst the tumults in each nation
Christ's Light shines against the night
Promising hope and salvation
His good news grows ever more bright

Tumult explains a lot in one word!
violent and noisy commotion or disturbance of a crowd or mob; uproar. 2. a general outbreak, riot, uprising, or other disorder. 3. highly distressing agitation of mind or feeling; turbulent mental or emotional disturbance.

[Verse 1] Tall walls of hatred divide us Civility’s gone from our door Every home aches for a healing Only You can restore In the noise and in the hurting In the wounds we try to hide You are whispering Your mercy Calling us to life [Chorus] Midst the tumults in each nation Christ’s Light shines against the night Promising hope and salvation His good news grows ever more bright You are the flame that will not falter You are the truth that sets us free Midst the tumults in each nation Let Your light begin in me [Verse 2] We have trusted lesser kingdoms We have chased our own desires Yet Your kindness keeps on reaching Pulling us from the fire Break the pride that keeps us distant Mend the grudges Calm the fear Teach our hearts to love our neighbors As You first drew near [Chorus] Midst the tumults in each nation Christ’s Light shines against the night Promising hope and salvation His good news grows ever more bright You are the flame that will not falter You are the truth that sets us free Midst the tumults in each nation Let Your light begin in me
