Death is a journey
With an unseen portal
Where we all go home
No more being mortal
The Heavens open...a crack
Loved ones await us
To journey us back
To the arms of Jesus
The night before my mom passed she was more alert and restless. She kept calling names of loved ones in the house while staring at the ceiling. She also kept say, "Wency" "Billy" ( people who have died...her mom and I'm not sure because it could have been her brother-in-law or uncle. But, they both went by Bill. Hmmm.
Later she said, "I passed!"
I asked what?
And she said, "Look!"
I wish I asked her more. But she had dementia and I didn't know what to think. But her eyes were glassy and amazing!
That night, she was restless and showed more life, when normally she didn't move from the rotated position we put her in. At one point, I found her on her knees, beside the bed, trying to get up.
The next morning I found her in bed and my sister, dad and her great-grandson were there as she died. I was surprised in a small way because of her energy the night before but have since heard it is common to have energy and an alert mind before passing.
My sister added: Beautiful Kelly. I have a book from a hospice nurse that explains the dying process. They almost always do the same thing. I asked Alta's best friend Lola Jean to meet meet at her place. Alta had been in a coma and I wanted Lola Jean to pick out her clothes to bury her in. I got there and Lola Jean was there already and her and Alta were talking up a storm! She drifted off not long after and died a few days later. Lola Jean was so happy to have that last time with her. Like you and Kerry did Lola Jean dressed and prepared Alta after she died. So sweet. ❤️
