🚨I Almost Died on My Mission🚨
I was called to serve in the Colombia Medellín Mission after training in the MTC in Lima, Peru. I spent five months teaching about Jesus Christ — helping people feel His love and reminding them that they are never alone.
But one day, my body began to fail. Breathing became hard, pain never stopped, and I could barely move. Still, I kept going. I couldn’t stop while someone still needed to feel the love of God.
Finally, my body gave up. I was rushed to Medellín, where doctors told me I had Type 1 diabetes. I had lost 14 kilos in one week. The doctors said that if I had arrived a few hours later, I would have fallen into a coma or died.
But God had one more miracle prepared.
A girl named Daniela was admitted next to me after trying to end her life. Even though I was weak and covered in tubes, I shared with her the message of Jesus Christ and gave her a Book of Mormon. She cried, hugged me, and promised never to give up again.
That was the last time I taught as a missionary with a plaque on my chest — but it was also one of the most sacred moments of my life.
Today I live with diabetes, but my faith is stronger than ever. My story didn’t end there.
After recovery, I was reassigned to the Argentina Buenos Aires South Mission, ready to finish what I started — with faith, courage, and the assurance that the Lord never abandons His servants.
✨ I am Gabriel Hernán Ose — and I will finish my mission, with no fear and with full faith in my Savior.
