President Dallin H. Oaks speaks at funeral service for Latter-day Saint ...

It's a glorious experience
to share a testimony bright,
to speak with love and feel
encircled with Christ's light!

The Junior and Senior Apostle Decades of Friendship
It's more than seeing the empty chair...
[[Verse 1] Side by side in quiet chapels Scriptures open on our knees We stumbled through our first few lessons Then watched Light and truth set people free We laughed in empty church hall kitchens Planning talks, the last to leave You’d nod at me I’d nod right back Both of us leaning on Christ [Chorus] This friendship bound with the gospel A cord that time can’t tear apart We carry the weight on our shoulders And you know just how to reach my heart To testify To shine so bright To feel our Savior in the room tonight We stand together Word in hand Encircled in Christ’s light [Verse 2] We poured our fears into our journals Then shared the pages Trembling You saw the cracks inside my armor Spoke grace into my questioning We watched the weary find their footing Heard second chances in their prayers You’d squeeze my shoulder when I faltered Reminding me Jesus was there [Chorus] This friendship bound with the gospel A cord that time can’t tear apart We carry the weight on our shoulders And you know just how to reach my heart To testify To shine so bright To feel our Savior in the room tonight We stand together Word in hand Encircled in Christ’s light [Bridge] If one day heaven calls you sooner If one day I must stay behind Your voice will live inside my memory Your faith will echo in my mind Because this love is more than breathing It’s a promise sealed above We’ll meet again where fears are finished Still teaching Still sharing His love [Chorus] This friendship bound with the gospel A cord that time can’t tear apart We carry the weight on our shoulders And you know just how to reach my heart To testify To shine so bright To feel our Savior in the room tonight We stand together Word in hand Encircled in Christ’s light
