Breathe

A painting by Robert T. Barrett depicting Christ in white and red robes, standing on the water and reaching out to Peter, who is sinking.
Christ Walking on the Water, by Robert T. Barrett; GAK 243; Primary manual 7-17; Matthew 14:22–33; Mark 6:45-51
With rising pressures, I was swirling in fear
Falling, drowning, and gasping for air
I did not think that help could appear
And I doubted anyone would care

THEN

A bright thought came. It buoyed me up
I was a child running and free!
Smiling, soon to be encircled in love
Within God's arms waiting for me

That thought alone reached into my heart
And brought me back to a cherished place
Where I could think, freely, out of harm
And deeply breathe in God's warm embrace

Here's a great read if you need to settle down and breathe:
