Grandpa, if I suffer more
will you suffer less?
She saw how his pain tore
And would not let him rest.
Eagerly, he answered,
"It doesn't work that way."
But, he spiritually has learned
That God's with him each day.
And, too, there is a pain
That Christ can take away.
Through repentance, we gain
New beginnings, always.
A new heart and clean hands,
A fresh outlook on life...
Though consequences still stand
There's strength that comes through Christ.
