Inclusion

Openly and publicly
He identified Himself with all
The sinner and the sickly
And those who sought for Him to fall

He Did

He lived and taught the truth
As, with light, He shows the Way
Daily, our steps can improve
If we listen and obey

Perfect submission

In all of His days here on earth
He never did a single wrong
Thought or acted on a selfish urge
His submission was perfect and strong

Celestial Fire

His only concern
His only desire
Is to help us burn
With Celestial fire

Heavenly

With ceaseless selflessness
And compassion without end
Comes love and forgiveness
As with the Heaven's we blend

Chip Off the Old Block

We're each a chip off the old block
Still we become something unique
Our spiritual side to unlock
Of what we're to become, a peek

Ever Ready

Ever ready were His hands
To reach out and heal with love
Ever ready was His heart
To forgive , and help us above

High Standards

High standards of conduct
Do not cause you to weep
If you let God instruct
The are possible to keep

Living in Bed

Have you ever had to live in bed?
And thought, "Oh what I would do instead"
There's only so much your hands and eyes can do.
Before you wish for someone to talk to!

Stronger

Sit in darkness, no longer
Show yourself to the light
Jesus will make you stronger
And help you to choose the right

Pondering Isaiah 49

Return

Return to the path
Which leads us home
Our Savior, we have
He is out hope!

Keys

Where are the keys
How we need them now!
Through care one sees
The power, they allow

We're not stranded, alone
We've keys today
That will help us get home
To Heaven to stay

Morning

The morning sun
Comes beating in
Our sleep is done
The race begins

Shoot Off Like a Rocket

Prayers shoot off
like a rocket and then
Return oft
As a celestial friend

It Doesn't Take a Rocket Scientist

You don't have to be a rocket scientist
To know that the church is true
Still your mind and yield your heart
Let Heaven whisper to you

Seminary

Prioritize with care.
Seek life's lessons of light.
Each morning prepare
To start your day off bright

Because There Is One

Find the Creator, in your own way
Because there is one
Ask Him to speak to you. Pray
Through faith, this is done

The founding fathers acknowledged that there was one creator who granted all man inalienable rights. All of them had discovered this truth, individually, and acted on this truth as the foundation of the unity that brought to us this inspired document.
The phrase, "separation of church and state" does not appear in the Constitution. It is a phrase extracted by liberal academics to justify and further their own agenda to eliminate religion and is based on the Constitutional directive that there shall be no state religion establishment, thus guaranteeing religious freedom.

A River of Peace

Be like unto a gentle river
Spreading peace upon the land
Making the fertile soil richer
And the waste places grand

1 Nephi 20: 18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments—then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea.

True Importance

Wallfahrtskirche Birnau, Sonnenzeituhr

Though you must work by the clock
Take the time to pause and talk
Even if you have to schedule it in
What's important is then taught

Credit for Effort

An E for effort
Is all that you need
To seek and enter
The path to succeed

"The great thing about the gospel is we get credit for trying, even if we don’t always succeed."
—Jeffrey R. Holland, "Tomorrow the Lord Will Do Wonders among You"

A Secure Anchor

Do not solo in life

To think you can is a lie

For, eventually some sin

Will destroy you from within

Yield

A photograph of a man hiking on a trail, paired with words from Neill F. Marriott: “He takes us as we are.”
Yield  to the Lord
Give Him your heart
Improve, reform,
And do your part

"As our trust in Him grows, we open our hearts, seek to do His will, and wait for answers that will help us understand."
—Neill F. Marriott, "Yielding Our Hearts to God"

Consistency and Confidence

A photograph of the ocean paired with the words from 2 Samuel 22:3.
In Christ, consistently strive
To feel the spirit come alive
Confidence can be found in every step

With Him as our guide, the path is set
"As we strive ever more consistently to do good and to become better, we can walk with the confidence that God will guide our steps."
—David A. Bednar, "The Spirit of Revelation"

Clearly, the family is the best place to teach and model the virtue of personal virtue in all its forms. When Thomas Jefferson's wife died, his daughters Martha and Mary were 10 and 4. He relied on Martha to help him teach Mary, telling her, "Teach [Mary] above all things to be good: because without that we can be neither valued by others or ourselves." Keep Your Friendship's Minty Fresh

Keep your friendships minty fresh
Add flavor to each day
Help each other "be your best"
Remember, Christ's the Way

I was talking to my husband about a minty fresh concept and he took it a step further and reminded me that the fresh part is similar to gum. How do you keep adding flavor and freshness to relationships?

The Family Reunion

Christ loves the Jew
In an incredible way
He will come anew
For a  reunion, someday.

Titus 70 AD
Then 8 empires took them away
1948 Israel returns becomes a nation
1967 took Jerusalem
At some point He will come to the holy land.

Honor Lost

Freedom isn't always lost
Upon the battlefield
We often pay the higher cost
When to false pride we yield

Sister Dew is a wonderful insightful speaker, writer, and patriot.  This book will inspire you to rise up with courage and faith to take your place. Also, here is a great read: http://www.ldschurchnewsarchive.com/articles/44088/The-trail-were-leaving-behind.html

There is Only One

A photograph of a girl holding an image of Christ, with a quote by President Russell M. Nelson: “Your faith is always safe … in the Lord Jesus Christ.”

There is only one
Who can keep you safe
He the living Son
Is mighty to save

The Work of Righteousness

The work of righteousness yields peace
And quiet assurance within to swell
Creating in the heart a resting place
For the spirit to teach and dwell

Isaiah 32:17 17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

The Spiritual ABC's

The Spiritual ABC's

Are timeless for education
They scatter well happy seeds
For peaceable habitation

     from the New England Primer:

A - A wise son [daughter] makes a glad father, but a foolish son [daughter] is the heaviness of his mother.
B - Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure and trouble therewith.
C - Come unto Christ all ye that labor are heavy laden, and He will give you rest.
D - Do not the abominable thing which I hate, saith the Lord.
- Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

L - Liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.
M - Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all.
N - Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation.
O - Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
- Pray to thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which sees in secret, shall reward thee openly.
Q - Quit you like men, be strong, stand fast in the faith.
R - Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth.
S - Salvation belongeth to the Lord.
T - Trust in God at all times ye people, pour out your hearts before Him.
U - Upon the wicked God shall rain an horrible tempest.
W - Woe to the wicked, it shall be ill with him, for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
X - Exhort one another daily while it is called to-day, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Y - Young men ye have overcome the wicked one.

Regroup

What else is there
To see me through
But love, faith, prayer
And being true

Sometimes I get too wrapped in what is out of my control and have to regroup what holds my attention and find my core strength and value.

See Others as They May Become

Nothing is of more worth than to achieve

A testimony of Christ to share

Each has His Light within to believe

And live up to one's potential there

Worry

Worry is misspent imagination
So name it something else
It's not misrepresentation
For it positively helps

I have a food addiction, I am an emotional eater.  I share all my emotions with food.  Sigh.
That is why I tipped into the obesity range of BMI.  (again)  And, my waist measures what my hips used to be!
1. I recently read that the line between anxiety and excitement is very thin and you can meditate, yawn, self-soothe, self-talk, write about it, etc. to calm them down They seem to get my hunger juices flowing so I imagine butterflies in my stomach instead.
2. Oscar Wilde’s  words, “Worry is misspent imagination.”( so name it something else!)

The Key to Teaching With Light

The key to teaching, with Light,
Is to prepare, ponder, and pray.
Then, with love, invite
Others along the narrow way

Always There is More

Always there is more to write,
Good to ponder on.
Be prolific. Find new Light.
Growth is never wrong.

Always there is more
Good to ponder on
Believe on the Lord
And new light will dawn

I am enjoying NeuroGym's Mark Waldman and neuroscience.  I have always been fascinated with the brain. Brain images are constantly teaching us new things.
I write a lot of poems and I know sometimes they are just for me and are a little raw in the thought processing.  It is similar for a musician who only comes up with one or two hits.  There were a lot more written on that journey.  If you have a passion for writing, just keep at it.
