He Marked the Path

Christ lost Himself in service,
according to God's will.
He knew this was His purpose.
His mission to fulfill.

With compassion, He led.
With full wisdom He taught.
In all that He did and said
He marked the path He walked..

And at the end of the road
three steps He took alone;
As He bore the heavy load
Of what it took to atone.

Gethsemane, Golgotha,
the garden tomb made dark.
All this He did for us
on the lonely path He marked.
