Young Jesus Teaches in the Temple

As God's own son and special witness
He ministered to all within His reach
He went about His Father's business
And offered the higher law unto each
Ought we not to do the same?
On the path narrow and straight
Ever in the Father's name
As one who has entered the gate

Because

Because His love for us is pure,
His welcoming arms await
With perfect knowledge ..to measure
all...as the keeper of the gate.

2Nephi 9:41
O then, my beloved brethren, acome unto the Lord, the Holy One. Remember that his paths are righteous. Behold, the bway for man is cnarrow, but it lieth in a straight course before him, and the keeper of the dgate is the Holy One of Israel; and he employeth no servant there; and there is none other way save it be by the gate; for he cannot be deceived, for the Lord God is his name.

Go and Sin No More

He lowered Himself and touched the sinner.
As her accusers judged and left.
For He knew that goodness was within her
That for her soul she mourned and wept

Sermon on the Mount: Treasures in Heaven

Seemed to write upon each heart

It Feels So Good

It feels so good to be washed clean
As one baptized with Christ's light seen.
It feels so right to serve and grow
To repent oft, to seek and know.

Gone

My one true love is gone
But not that far away
I have faith to be strong.
With Christ, I will stay brave.

Fixed

Be your own best friend.
Fix your eyes on our Savior.
Do all things for Him-
Love yourself and your neighbor.

We can rise and walk.

My Tongue

The human heart is mostly good
Although at times misunderstood
Words can be said that cause offense
For how we act frames each sentence

I did not mean to frustrate you
I did not pause to think things through
Then, what I said was out of turn
Yes, to bite my tongue, I must learn

Life's beautiful
I feel so blessed
With peace and rest

Look upon the heart

In life, do your part

God's Light Shines Upon Us All

God's light shines upon us all.
Each to answer their own call.
Line upon line from knowledge and choice.
We forgive, learn, repent and rejoice.

The Light of Christ's warm, pure embrace
Is felt as truth is kept in place.
Hold to what you know and seek for more.
The light grows always towards the Lord.

He is our compass and our north star.
He let's us know Heaven is not far.
There is a plan for the human race.
Which assures, as laws we embrace!

Make Time

Make time

For the Father's business

Divine

This is how we feel purpose

Look Up

When you feel sorrow,
Pain, or rejection.
Look up and borrow
Love for reflection.

Life - Hold to What's Simple

Life, like a puzzle,
Is not easy to place
Hold to what's simple
While challenge, you embrace

I was just thinking I need to hold to what routines I have as much as I can.  Like always ending the day reading the scriptures and saying my prayers.

Don't Be a Member in Camouflage

Dont' be a member
 in camouflage
Have faith, remember
The host you lodge

Be Proud of the Standards

Be proud of the standards
That the Lord has set
For every thought matters
To feel Him present

The Next Time

The next time you feel sorrow,
Pain, or rejection.
Look to the Lord and borrow
Love for reflection.

Desire becomes belief
As strength, He sends
The hurt soul feels relief
And the heart mends

Lay Your Sorrows at Christ's Feet

Lay down at Christ's feet
All that causes you sorrow
New dawns you've to greet
Look forward to tomorrow

It is By Grace

It is by grace that we are saved
After all we can do

The Floodgates of Despair

The floodgates of despair
Lay ready to burst
Surrender to Christ's care
He knows how life hurts

"Come Unto Me," He calls
"And I shall give you rest."
Our burdens He then hauls
Oh, how, with Him, we're blessed!

Words of prophets can dispel despair | Deseret News

Then the Dawn

Would it that this day pass
That I might just get by;
And leave It, to the past,
Or at once, I will cry.

Would it that this night pass...
So far, I cannot sleep.
Tormented by the past...
I continue to weep!

Then the dawn brings new light
I ponder and see clearly
I pray for keen insight
And treasure life more dearly

Deuteronomy 28:26
In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

Compensation

The Lord compensates for where we fail
At raising children unto Him.
For some deviate from off the trail
Despite invitations given.

Line upon line, lessons are learned;
As well as respect for God's laws.
What is lost can be re-turned....
That testimony put on pause!

Change of Heart

Of all the changes we can make
Our heart needs it the most
For the spirit to reawake
Stirred by the Holy Ghost

I took the opportunity to write to my employers and reevaluate how things are going in my classroom.  I hope it helps to change things, if not...it changed my heart in the right direction.
Sigh...the highs and lows of teaching!

You May Stumble and Fall

You may stumble and fall
And lose sight of the way
Dust yourself off, stand tall
And move forward today
"Our destiny is not determined by the number of times we stumble but by the number of times we rise up, dust ourselves off, and move forward."
—Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "You Can Do It Now!"

This was an appropriate message for me today.  I came home wanting to quit.  Happy Friday, huh?  It was a very hard week and I am not sure I survived...

Make your Claim

Make your claim
Upon each blessing
Maintain faith
Midst all that's stressing

Work, rebuild
From that fiery test
To God, yield
He awaits to bless

Claim the Blessings of Your Covenants
"The trials and tribulation that we experience may be the very things that guide us to come unto Him and cling to our covenants so that we might return to His presence and receive all that the Father hath."

My dear sisters, the Lord allows us to be tried and tested, sometimes to our maximum capacity. We have seen the lives of loved ones—and maybe our own—figuratively burned to the ground and have wondered why a loving and caring Heavenly Father would allow such things to happen. But He does not leave us in the ashes; He stands with open arms, eagerly inviting us to come to Him. He is building our lives into magnificent temples where His Spirit can dwell eternally.
In Doctrine and Covenants 58:3–4, the Lord tells us:
“Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation.
“For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory.”

We Step in the Dark

We step in the dark
With a leap of faith
And new purpose imparts
As our doubts fade

Liken to God's Word

Unlikely things happen
As we liken to God's word
We find a safe haven
As we act on what we've heard

Kinship with Joseph Smith

With great joy, I feel kinship
With the boy, young Joseph Smith
My questions, God has answered
As I seek... my prayers are heard

Line upon line, I've been taught
As from His word, I have sought
To know of His will for me
And my place in history

The World Blurs the Vision

The world blurs the vision
And separates us from God
It is through conversion
That our darkest nights are gone

We are Rich in Covenants

We are rich in covenants
With the Lord, unto whom we cleave.
A wealth of knowledge opens
As we repent and become clean.

His yoke is easy
And His burden is light
He offers sweet peace
As well as keen insight

Father's There's a Weight Upon Your Shoulders

Fathers,
there's a weight upon your shoulders
May you raise your children well to see
What lies ahead as they grow up older
That they may seek for eternity

I love the front cover of the Ensign this month.  A father has a small child on his shoulders and the child has fanciful arms spread out as in flight.

We can Change

We can change ourselves
Our behaviors and desires
Through our Lord who helps
Who enables and inspires

He can heal and cleanse
As we come unto Him
Through the atonement
We are changed from within

"We can change our behavior. Our very desires can change. How? There is only one way. True change—permanent change—can come only through the healing, cleansing, and enabling power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ."
—Russell M. Nelson, "Decisions for Eternity"
