Stomach the News? We Are Not a Stranger

Just how much of the news
Can you stomach at one time?
Before you get the blues
All this happens on Christ's dime!

For His bowels of mercy 

Extend to the whole human race

He knows how we are hurting

And offers each His throne of grace

This metaphorical use of "bowels" in scripture often represents deep feelings and moral virtues.

Colossians 3:12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering".

Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
