The Prisoner

There is no place so dark
That the Light of Christ can't go
And touch the humble heart
As we seek for truth, we'll know

There is no wall so thick
No earthly hole so deep
No troubled mind so sick
That with God one cannot weep

No prison bar nor guard
Can keep a prayer from rising
No prayer to God is barred
When His comfort we are prizing

Who is the prisoner, really
But any one of us
When we apply our own reason
And in our darkness, trust

The walls of pride continue
The dark pits await our fall
Still we've the Lord to draw unto
His invitation is for all

This drawing of the Savior was done by a prisoner.
Hope the poem gets to him as he is the inspiration for the poem
as I was deeply touched with emotion when I saw the sketch.
