Even Once

Things you cannot do
Even once
To be a hero
For instance:

Shooting up drugs
From a shared needle
Having sex with thugs
Or infected people

Once in the body
It cannot be washed
Viruses are ugly
And oportunity's lost

Pondering the questions asked when you give blood...When you give you will hear several times, "thanks for being a hero!" I don't think of it this way. Half the time you get something really cool like tickets to Penn and Teller or a t-shirt.
