We are Striving for Perfection

We are striving for perfection
As the Savior asks of us
Ever seeking His direction
Needing an exemplar, thus

The Savior said- "be ye therefore perfect"
Matthew 5:48: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is..."

Pondering...what does that mean? When someone hears us say this and they are not striving or do not think perfection is obtainable, what do they think of us?
