Putting Christ Back into Christmas
Wanting to put Christ
Back into Christmas Day
A family burned a light
In an old fashioned way
The house was in near darkness
Everything was turned off
They read by glow of candle
And found the babe they’d sought
With all the distraction gone
They each did naught but talk
The Light of Christ burned strong
The candle was their clock
They did this every night
Melting down an inch
They found they did not fight
And in reverence they were rich
When they went to church
They felt more of the Spirit
Preciously, they’d learned
To have the Spirit, you must hear it
Thus from one night came
A gift to last all year-
Reverence for Christ’s name,
As, symbolically, towards light they drew near
